Seedling age ~9 days, temp: 68-77, humidity ~72%, lighting: viparspectra xs1500 pro at 25% at 12 in, Soil:Fox farm light warrior, no added nutes yet. Water:ph at 5.8-6.2 at ppm of around 160-180 (Tap water)
NoâŚall kinds of variation as the seedlings grow faster than they can fill with chlorophyl
So yesâŚ. Normal?
SorryâŚyes normalâŚsmoked right before I was browsing. (was saying no not odd)
Looks fine.
Ur good brođ this is my first grow so im just making sure
Congrats on getting your first grow underwayâŚkeep us updated!
They turn lighter as they grow, and darker when âcompleteâ, with the darker color able to soak in more light (think black seats in car during summer). Looks super happy!
Their life is like a resource management game then, what youâre saying is they divert some energy and power to new growth thatâll in turn increase productivity?
Do you spray your plants with water ?
I try not to spray directly on them, I usually mist phd water into the soil for a couple seconds
They look good at this stage, the only reason Iâm asking is because I do see some dots on it. That could be from some small droplets getting on it and then acting as a magnifier from the light and burned it a little. Just give her a little tap afterwards to get some of the access off it.
Iâll say by 3rd week you should be ready to start giving her some nutes. I believe fox farm light warrior contains enough nutrients to last 3-4 weeks of a seedling.
Never thought of that analogy, but it makes me wonder about lights on 24/7, when biologists say that ânightâ (I grow in & outside) is when they take in CO2 and grow.
As always, there are many opinions/findings, and some seem to conflict, but itâs really that our science is newer than almost any other. I have almost every book on cannabis (100+), and while most advice is good for any âweedâ, that isnât what we do. Because everyone else here has given the best advice, Iâll wax philosophical for a momentâŚ
Sorry to back the topic up a level, but because growers are obsessed with the absolute best crop-down to the finest detail-as a group, we can be âdisappointedâ with what normally happens in a pheno/strain-variety, spontaneous genetic diversity, etc. Would you pay this kind of attention to a bed of daisies?
The fact that we pay a fortune for seeds is a heavy contributor, but weâll avoid that topic like Fusarium around here!
Nit-picking (to others) is one of the fun parts of this âhobbyâ!
I love the nitpicking as a want the final product to be the best it can with little deviation. This is my first grow however, so Iâm not familiar with how they SHOULD look as all of the YouTubers show them when they look good or have obvious deficiencies. I havenât read any books and am currently using ChatGPT and other resources like this to help guide me
By looking up and referencing anything, by learning, youâre way ahead of most people who think itâs like Jack and the Beanstalk, and you just toss them on the ground and joints sprout!
Definitely know some of themđ one person I know just ended up with 7 grams from harvest, like 30W light, and the effort of manually turning the lights off and feeding for 7gs of bottom shelf. I definitely donât want to end up like them
Letâs label that the âbeforeâ picture!
A part of me wants the challenge of growing âbag seedââŚ
âBag seedâ interesting! Please elaborate. ALSO, my babies got their first feeding today, just fox farm kangaroots, no real nutrients. 120 ml for the big two
I guess the trend today is to call them âregular seedsâ. We used to call what they call âtrimâ (pre-rolls from cuttings) today âshakeâ back in the day. Just different terms from when it was underground and not in the open light.
There is an absolutely hilarious list of names here on wikipedia and here on myplantlin.com from around the world. Hard to find terms from âback in the dayâ easilyâŚ
