I see some terps that are a brownish color but most are milky on my GSC EXTREME. It is in week 9 of it’s flowering cycle. Should I let it go for another week or so? Or is it ready now?

You’re in the harvest window Growmie. Growers choice once they all turn milky, more amber creates a sedated buzz. Most Growers choose a 80/20 milky to amber. The strain also has a huge impact on the buzz as well as the terpenes/terpenoids. Optimal drying conditions will help preserve these and provide the best buzz, taste and smell

Get yourself one of these to see your Trichomes. If your unsteady use a microphone stand to hold it. With the app you can look at your buds on your phone or iPad. They are around $25 and well worth the investment. Congratulations on your grow you have some nice buds growing. They will fatten up a little more.

This will be my 3rd grow and harvest. The first was a disaster! I grew 2 Blue Dream Autoflowers and 2 Girl Scout Cookies Extreme and when it was all said and done I yielded maybe 8 ounces. Anyway, thanks to this forum and the advice I get from the experts here, I am getting better at it and am improving quality and yield! I thank everyone here for all of your help!

Thank you @John7! And I will order one today. I am 64 and my hands do shake a little, so it is a challenge to take nice clear picture let alone zoom in on the trichomes. I love this site! Everyone here has been so helpful! Thanks again!

“Coin Viewer” has viewer, solid adjustable holding stand, USB charged battery, and decent software.
My vote (tried both, almost like twins, but different).
Viewer can be removed from stand for portability.

Hello fellow growers, I am starting to see amber trichomes on my GSC EXTREME and the grow guide doesn’t really say what the percentage of milky to amber I’m looking for before grabbing my shears. Can someone take a look and and let me know what you think?

Good morning @OGIncognito, I posted some pictures that I took yesterday and I was hoping you could take a look and let me know if the trichomes look right for harvest. I definitely have some amber trichomes but I am not sure the mix is close enough. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, now I know what to look for in the trichomes. My first 2 grows I harvested based on weeks of flowering. It will be interesting to see the differences in the quality of the smoke.

I harvest when I see almost all milky, difficult to judge 100%. I’ve harvested too soon before and the buzz was too racy, rapid heart beat etc. your plant is exactly where I like mine to be
And that is what my family and friend’s said to me about my previous harvests. I am learning, hopefully they will enjoy this harvest. Thanks again I do appreciate you.
