@Boongrower very cool. So dip aloe sap onto the fresh cutting and then 2 wks in water for root development. I’ve had terrible luck with cloning lol. Glad I have an aloe plant too!! Ty
Basically , I didn’t believe how fast it worked…also here’s a shot of some wild fennel I successfully cloned (made the cuttings about 3 days ago and already have roots) last time I attempted this without the aloe it took about 2 weeks
Hi @Boongrower , I can see your plant is doing fantastic! You noticed how much better the plant was doing in the larger pot. I see you said you were growing bag weed, do you know the origin? What strain it is?
You are equatorial, and plants that do well there are quite specific. I might recommend you visit The Real Seed Company or RSC… Ive been buying landraces from him for years and his seed stock is very reliable. He sources African strains and South Asian strains such as Thai, Laosian, and many others. What you may find is planting season for equatorials can be very specific because the plants tend to take a long time to finish flowering. Many strains will take 2 months in veg and 4 months or longer in bud.
If cannabis legal in Nigeria and you have a safe place, I would strongly suggest planting in native soil and use whatever manure is available, this the traditional method and if you have adequate source of water, you can grow killer plants. Cannabis is not terribly picky in this regard, it grows in super harsh environments.
Hey buddy I’m not entirely sure on the strain but most likely grown in a bush farm somewhere in Southern Nigeria. I wish I could do something in the ground looking to try that out one day when I live somewhere with a little more privacy (darn nosey neighbors). It’s not legal but nearly everyone smokes weed here however they’re hypocritical about it (oh well).
Mine have been in bloom for about 2 months now give or take. Had to harvest one of my plants early because aphids were squatting on her, literally had a crazy infestation. Should have just done a hydrogen peroxide and water solution which is what I did on the other three plants that are growing and I haven’t had aphid issues since. Didn’t expect the bloom period to last for up to 4 months I guess it’ll be well worth the wait in the end. The one I chopped down had this lovely aroma almost with citrus and mango notes to it.
I guess being an outdoor gardener comes with quite a few interesting challenges. I think for my next grow I’ll do some autoflowers and see how they fare in an equatorial environment outdoors - would be interesting to see the results.
That would be an interesting test. And yes 16 weeks of flowering makes for some killer buds! Thats what many equatorial strains require unfortunately. Id love to grow some here but it wouldnt be ready to harvest until well into winter.
