Planted all my seeds, now we wait….
I will follow along.
Thanks! I planted Tuesday morning. fingers crossed we have sprouts this evening
If it wasn’t for Chocolope I’d claim nearly 100% successful germination but that strain doesn’t like to sprout for me. This time I planted two of them hoping at least one would sprout and they both came up
Both sprouts had helmets on and one was bent over and laying on its side. I was able to get the seed shells successfully removed. Other than that we have healthy sprouts
I’m here for the journey
Little insight into how I start my grows with great success. This method works for anyone growing from seed, regardless of the medium you use. No harmful paper towels or germination kits needed.
In AutoPots I use 5 gallon fabric pots with 2.5-3 gallons of a cocoa/perlite mix in them.
Last week I watered the pots with a seedling strength nutrient mix with a little extra cal-mag thrown in
After watering the pots I put them in the tent under a 200W T5 fixture with plastic bags over them to get the soil good and warm prior to planting. The plastic bags from a grocery fit nicely over 5 gallon pots. IMO T5 lights are far superior to sprouting plants than a LED. Young plants love the warmth and the light spectrum keeps your nodes tighter so you don’t get ‘stringy’ plants.
Once the cocoa temp in the pots reaches 75 degrees I drop my seeds into a shot glass of water before going to bed. I’ve successfully sprouted seeds that were soaked for longer and shorter periods but started doing it this way a few years ago and stuck with it
The next morning I make a hole one knuckle deep, slowly pour my seed in, lightly cover, mist with some nutrient spray then recover the pot with a plastic bag under the T5.
Patiently wait 3-4 days then lift the bags and smile😁
If watered properly at this point the medium should still be pretty wet and the pots heavy which should give you a good 7-10 days before you need to do anything which is where I’m at.
Grow update to come in a week or so✌🏻
Week two update…..The two Chocolope that had helmets stuck on their heads to start are a little smaller than the others but other than that we have healthy babies spreading their roots. Currently under T5’s with
24x7 light cycle
It’s not supposed to get cold at night again for a while here so I went ahead and moved the babies into the 4x4 under LED. I setup the Aquvalves so that once they’re ready to go on the reservoir I only need to connect them to the splitter. Filled each pot with a little more cocoa and watered them well. They should be ready to go on the reservoir in a few days, then growth will explode
I checked in on the babies this morning and they’re loving the LED. All 4 have grown since yesterday and with the exception of the Chocolope, their leaves are now out to the edges of the pots. I’ll give them another day or two then it’ll be time to put them on the reservoir, make my first top and start plant training.
The 5th baby in the picture is a Glueberry OG autoflower from Dutch Passion that’s going outside in a few weeks. Thought I’d give her a headstart in a controlled environment.
I opened the tent this morning and all plants were noticeably bigger so I put them on the AutoPot system. 17 days from sprout isn’t too shabby. Went ahead and topped the Amnesia Haze. Figure she’s going to keep me busy for the next 4-6wks
I started using big 18” plant trays a while back to easily isolate which valve had an issue when a leak occurs… plus they’re great for plant training👍🏻
Well even though I cleaned everything well after my last grow I opened the tent to find a small leak this morning. Hopefully it’s now resolved
I cut a few big fans off to get light to the colas and started training the Strawberry Cough and GDP.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the two Chocolope yet, they’re still catching up. The Amnesia Haze is going to be trained flat on a screen to keep height in check once I get the auto flower out of the tent
Removing the big fans helped! The GDP and Strawberry Cough were big enough to top this morning
This is the first time I’ve grown Strawberry Cough and the second time for GDP. The first GDP I grew was easy to keep short and Strawberry Cough isn’t supposed to get real tall either so I’m doing a 4-way manifold on them. Hopefully I can keep the canopy fairly level with the Amnesia Haze🤞🏻
I joined the forum a few years ago when I first ordered from ILGM but never really used it until recently so I’m not sure how this work lol
Im inviting you guys to tag along. I read a lot but other than that I’m self taught so any advice is appreciated
Current setup I have 36” from the top of the pots to my light so I’m growing low and wide
One thing you could do is fill out a Support Ticket (attached) with all of your grow parameters. That will help folks dropping in to comment.

What nutes?
Left that out didn’t I… GH Flora trio in AutoPots
Cal mag? Silica? GH is a solid line but you will need to run those products. Silica is necessary for trichome production and disease resistance FYI
I also use calimagic but I’ve never used Silica. I’ll definitely check into it, always looking to improve. Thanks for the recommendation!
This is the feeding chart I’ve been using for a few years now. I’ll adjust if needed such as an extra week or two of Grow for longer flowering strains or a little extra cal mag for heavy feeders but other than that it’s pretty much stick to it. By flush at the end I mean plain ph’d water, no nutes in the reservoir. Once they go on the AutoPot system I stop top watering.
I ordered some Silica
