I think I cooked them?

I got all my girls transplanted and into there forever homes. And I’m feeling great about choosing the beige color of fabric pots instead of the black! It gets just too dang hot here in Oklahoma! Anyone know about how long they will be in shock for from the transplanting? I have no idea but they have already started stretching out and leaning their stocks further apart so it looks like they’re stretching their legs to me but I’m not too sure… thanks

@Deez since transplanting I’ve only given a little bit of sun And tonight it’s supposed to rain. I brought them closer to the house so the wind wouldn’t damage them and I’m going to get them soaked with rain water throughout the night. Do you think this will be good for them and be all right without giving them too much stress it’s not needed. What would you do?

I’d say you’re on the right track. Plants look good. Give em another day or two and then you can stick em out there full time.

You and the plants have made huge gains over the past few weeks. Great choice with the fabric pots. I would think another few days of the hardening phase and you shoipd be good to go. Maybe another week due to the transplanting. Everhthing is looking real nice.
Happy growing.

@anon86641082 dude thank you so much for saying that! I really appreciate it. It makes me feel like I’m at least doing something correctly. I’m really glad that I found this forumAs there are tons of really awesome people here that really know their stuff! Thanks for watching.

@Deez hey brother, I have Red on here that it is better to have one person that you used to mentor I’m going through your first grow and not really listening or paying attention to all the other peoples inputs on what they say is best to do for your plants as you go along. I was wanting to know if I could use you as my mentor to help me get through this first grow. It seems to cut out the confusion and all the other stuff that people throw in as people chime into one another’s posts. I know you know your stuff so I thought I would ask. Thanks a lot brother :sunglasses:

I have read that I should be using Calmag when using distilled water So I was wondering why should I use it and what is it used for? I need to know whether or not I should buy some?

I just went out to look at my plants for the first time today and noticed this yellowing on a few of the leaves. I have it on two different plants and I’m wondering is this just from transplant shock or maybe some kind of bugs? Any help would be much appreciated as I’m way in over my head. One is a photo and one is an auto. Both of them have the same issue going on so I’m not too sure but I don’t think that it matters either way. The big plant that has all the leaves gone was very root bound and it’s the one that I had to tear apart the roots section and make slices down the roots with a razor blade to let the roots breathe and to get it out of the pot that it was bound in. It has since sprouting new leavesAnd is moving around so I think it’s going to live but I figure why not just let it grow and see if it has the strength to do so or not. Is there anything else that I can do to the big one to make it recover faster?

And when I cut the root system open all these little bugs fell out of the root system. they look like ants of some sort But looked a little bit too small to be ants. I was also wondering what kind of pests will live down in the root system? Thanks for the interest.

@TRF happy to help with anything I can offer my experience on :+1:

Not sure what to say about the bugs but they don’t appear to be hurting things.

If you’re not currently feeding these regularly I’d give this one some liquid kelp at about 1tbs per gallon of water - help I’m give it some vigor.

You’re using Jacks correct? I use salt based ferts in organic soil sometimes although for the most part I don’t do it unless I need to make a quick correction (like a heavy boost of N) or when I’m growing autos and want to just pump them with ferts so they grow as quickly as possible for their short veg period.

I’ve never used jacks so I’d recommend also tagging some growers who are familiar with the product

If there’s anything related to organic growing though I’m happy to lend my experience.

Thanks buddy! Btw what is Calmag used for, why use it, and when to do so?
@Deez
I’ve read a lot of people use it but I’m not sure about any of the above questions.

@TRF. I read somewhere that calcium is needed for strong cell walls.

I just googled and magnesium supports photosynthesis.

Cal mag is a supplement to your water and are important minerals for your plant to grow. Im fortunate I don’t have to use it - my water is very hard and seems to have enough cal and mag already in it to not need additional put in.

Folks who need to use it they usually do every watering

Thanks for the info @JaneQP. That makes sense to me. @Deez how do I know if I need it or not?

Easiest way is to get your water tested and post the results here. There’s some water gurus around here who can assist.

I’m running low on funds and can’t buy a tester for a couple more weeks so I’m not really sure how I can do so. In talking to the growers down the street and them telling me that they just use tapwater distilled for their indoor grow that I would be fine with just using distilled tapwater from my house seeing so I didn’t have a tester. It seems my plants like it just fine. Feel free to tag some water gurus on here if you know any right off hand. Thanks

@Deez what is this yellowing a result from you think? It’s became more of an issue over last night and throughout the day today so I want to know how to combat it.

They have only been getting rain water over the past few days since I transplanted them. So I know it’s not the pH in my water or anything like that as I would think that rainwater wouldn’t cause an issue with yellowing of my leaves.

That looks heat related to me. I’m assuming this is the plant got cooked a little bit…

I had one earlier this season that a tarp blew over on top of and I did not notice until several hours later. It took over a week for it to get worse and worse and continue showing dying leaves.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that these look like more cooked leaves on your plant and it’s possible that you just haven’t seen all of them yet that are going to happen. like you may see some additional cooked leaves start to show up just based on damage that wasn’t visible at first

Lots of water

OK gotcha. So you think it could be because they weren’t hardened off well enough yet that they kind of got more cooked than they needed to be because of such a dramatic transition into direct sunlight. That makes sense to me and I just don’t want a whole lot more to happen if there’s something I can do to prevent it. I haven’t been watering them because we’ve had rain the past four days and we’re going to continue to have rain over the next week and lots of it.I’m just going to leave them out there in the rain and let them continue to use up the nutrients that are in the soil from the transplant and let the rain feed it to them until the rain dries out. I think it looks like heat to but I wasn’t sure so I thought I’d ask. Thanks for the info dude. Have a great day bro

@Dclark heres my journal if you’d like to follow along with my growing too buddy. It’s all a learning experience bro And I had similar things going on with mine when mine were smaller. He just got a flow with it and not get too worried. Just let mother nature do her thing! Happy growing bro!
