@Lostgirl @merlin44 well I chopped it down this morning. I hung without trimming. I don’t have a fan running in the cabinet and I’m wondering if that is okay because I know if I put the fan in there it would dry it so much quicker but anyway check this out and tell me how it looks
Doesn’t look like you have any area to even put a fan LOL
Airflow is important when drying what’s more important is that the fan does not blow directly on the plant that’s drying
@Lostgirl well I have a little small pocket fan that is perfect for this cabinet when I set it on low speed. But that’s ride my s*** out so fast last time. My central air vent is right by it. But even if I leave the cabinet cracked, I still think it’s going to dry out too fast with my heat in my house being on a lot you know. Now right now with the cabinet closed it was at 70 70 humidity. And I do believe my hydrometer is off a couple of points. So even with this being in the cabinet I believe even when the cabinet is closed it is still getting air from the cracks in the doors
@Lostgirl check it out I went and got two big bags of ffof yesterday and was able to transplant one of them into the big fabric pot I have and then I unfolded the other fabric pot and filled it to the top with soil which should be perfect because my ppms were low so that should bring it up some now. And I came up on two of these 1200 watt wakyme LEDs. So now I’m going to move them from out of this little closet into the big room and get it all set up with the film on the walls and everything but now they should be in a better environment to thrive
I found this on the side of the road yesterday and it couldn’t have happened at no better time because my water has been cut off so I was able to get my water back on and get them bags of soil. Check out my luck …t was over $700! On the side of the road soaked from the rain
Your central air vent being right next to it will be sufficient for air flow. You just don’t want stale air sitting there.
Correct, I stated that above.
Ok well i second that then
@Lostgirl so now that I got my new rum set up I cleared out the little closet that I was vegging in and hung everything in there to dry. It’s been at a constant 60 humidity and 68°. The fan leaves are starting to crisp up. I was thinking about doing a little trim on it but I’m probably just going to give it a few more days. Here’s what it looks like
@kaptain3d @Myfriendis410 @merlin44 @Lostgirl so I have a question if someone can help me, I feel like the LEDs and the HPS is space too far apart and I’m wondering if it is. I added another little 85 watt full spectrum light hanging down in between the two 1200 LEDs across from the HPS but I have it like 4 inches away since it’s only 85 w but I’m wondering if I’m doing too much adding that light and I’m also wondering if I should put the two LEDs and HPS on the same bar together so it would all be closer you know like put the HPS in the middle and an LED on each side of it close. Someone please help with this
Good question Unfortunately, I’m not the best person to answer that question. I’ll let the light professionals jump in
Likewise…
@Lostgirl @kaptain3d @SausageMahoney okay it’s like this from the back wall I have them to LEDs mounted about 12 in from the back wall then the HPS ain’t till about another 24 in maybe. So I got the plants in the middle so where half of the plant is getting the LED and the other half is almost under the HPS. I think the HPS is way too close too I measured and I’m only 5 in from canopy. But I’m just wondering the thoughts on having the plants in the middle of the lights instead of being directly underneath
@dbrn32 can you shed some “light” on this inquiry?
There’s nothing wrong with blending of two different light sources. Whether it be hid, led, fluorescent, or whatever. The concern would be that your light intensity levels and leaf surface temps stay as close to ideal conditions as possible. In the case of an 85 watt led panel I think typical heights for something like this are roughly 12-18". I didn’t catch what size hps is in use but the typical height of hps is usually quite a bit higher due to the way reflector hoods condense light and bulbs heat canopy.
Another consideration is that plants will usually tolerate more light intensity when the intensity is gradually increased instead of going from low intensity to high intensity abruptly. So even when light intensity is not ridiculously high plants may not be hardend well enough for an abrupt increase.
I’m not really sure what else if anything was requested, but happy to help if I can.
Well I have it a lot better now, I moved the HPS light to the back bar in the middle of the LEDs and drop them all lower. Now I can use this other bar that the HPS was on and I’m thinking of putting a shower curtain or curtain on the bar and put my film onto it that way I can box it in better and get better light reflection. But it is coming together
@Lostgirl @dbrn32 @merlin44 @SausageMahoney so yesterday was 4 days of hang drying and last night I noticed they were almost there. So I trimmed and put in paper bags with like three pin holes on each side for it to breathe then I folded the bag over and clipped them to the drying line. I put a hydrometer in one of the bags in this morning I seen it was 57% so I put everything in jars. I’ve been smoking off of this stuff and it is pretty decent just waiting on that taste to go away. So now what? I pretty much understand what to do but guess I just would like to talk to someone about this and here opinions and advice.
Ghosts gonna be in there smoking in the haunted closet.
If it were me at 57% I consider that on the low side. With jarring them I would put a nice size fresh fan leaf in the jar/jars to get the RH up to about 64% (a better moisture content) and burp a few times a day.
Once it stabilizes, you can keep them in the jar or transfer to long-term storage cure bags.
That’s just my two cents
57% rh is a little dry. You may be able to get rh in jars to equalize a little higher though. Maybe consider something like a boost or boveda pack to help bring rh up but my preference is to use these for storage and not necessarily curing.
Other than that you can just burp occasionally to allow off gassing out and wait.
