Humidity issue help

This is my first time growing. I have no idea of the strain. A friend gave me the seeds so I am calling it Jane Doe. I have been in flower for 7 days. My humidity is 65%. The plant looks good. I live in Maryland so humidity is always going to be an issue. Are there any tips to getting the rh down under 50. Or should I base it off what the plant looks like.

You’ll want RH <50% in flowering to mitigate the risk of mold. A dehumidifier can help, but be aware that a dehumidifier will add heat.

Increasing airflow can also help.

Welcome to the forum.

Plant looks great. I dont stress to much about humidity untill your buds start to get bigger week 3 or 4 of flower. Just make sure you have plenty of air flow mabey even take a few fan leaves to help promote airflow. I alway jave troubl at night with humidity. Good luck

Looking good Grow Bro, the plant is just starting the flower transition and stretch. Another week or 2 to complete this. Defoliate around week 3 of flower after the transition then again around week 6 :love_you_gesture:

Airflow. Set up an AC in the room, use a dehumidifier and make sure there is fresh, cool air being circulated inside at a low speed. I suggest using inline fans for intake and exhaust.

Growing indoors in Maryland can be a very difficult task. Humidity is always incredibly high. Over the last few years are summers in Maryland are normally triple digits outside.

I find the commercial dehumidifiers (50 pints) are a 100% necessity for summer grows in Maryland. Placing this commercialized type dehumidifier outside your tent will totally eliminate your humidity problem.

If you’re lucky you can look around and find them incredibly cheap at flea markets and thrift stores used but always work. Even the new ones are only about $125 bucks.

If you’re lucky, you’ve got a decent air conditioning system keeping your tent cool.

I personally gave up growing indoors in the summer in Maryland as I’m on a third floor right next to the roof. My tent stays 90° at all times even with air conditioning. Just an environmental hell to keep on point. Hopefully your conditions are better

That what I have setup now. I also have a small dehumidifier in the tent and outside of the tent. I have ordered some humidity bags. We will see where this takes me.

I live in the south. Humidity is a major issue. If you defol like @OGIncognito suggested and keep a small oscillating fan on your plants along with the dehumidifier helping youll be gold. I have both in my “bus” and have never had any issues “knock on wood”..

As long as you have a good fan to keep the air moving you should be fine .

Oh , welcome !

Hey, are you keeping your dehumidifier on in the tent when the lights are off? Could be condensation build up. Look into Transpiration/Respiration. I can only post a limited amount each day bc Im new to the Forum

Update,

The weather has chilled out and the humidity is in range now . 2 week of flower

Looking good.

Week 5 flower and in the last few days the leaves have started turning

yellow. Overall. Looks healthy. I have a 10-11 degree drop at night in temp. Any clues on what I should look for. Strain is white widow hybrid of an unknown strain.
