How many people here use Autopots?

Just found this section. I bought the 4 pot xl system and I’m waiting for the timing to be right on the current grow to get started

I just finished my first grow in Autopots, 4XL setup with spring pots. I was truly impressed at how well everything went. I did 2 double grape by Mephisto and 2 Electric Qoolaid by NightOwl, feed was the most current version of MegaCrop.

ok i was wondering if you had to buy pots to go in the auto pots. i am definitely interested in hearing what people use. can you explain the spring pots? pic maybe?

edit, just saw that auto pot xl systems come with spring pots at no extra cost. sweet

Yep the xl comes with 5gl spring pots but the trays are 10” diameter so you can run different fabric pots as long as they’re close or a bit smaller than 10”. So you could run 3 or 4 gallon pots no problem

thanks.

with the bottom feeding, you can’t start using the auto pot right away, correct? you have to wait until the plants have roots big enough to reach the bottom of the pot?

Yes, go check out @Nicky user guide, he sums it up pretty clearly. Depending on how you start you may be top watering for the 1st couple weeks. I’m dropping seeds for my 1st autopot run this weekend, I can’t wait to get started

@CMichGrower you. Can start them in soil, grow them in a nursery pot of the right size and them pot up to 5 gallon coco autopots.

A solo cup sized nursery bag sitting in a tray of water should survive a week.

@LandShark can you link that grow I didn’t keep up with the journal.
I’ve heard it smells good

Over at AFN someone started a thread of their jouney using autopots straight from the rip and last time I checked they didn’t have any problems.

I didn’t journal this grow, and the smell was ridiculous!

Do you have final pics?

I’m gonna have to try this double grape it’s my grow stores favourite auto.

No, I don’t have any final pics. Things were hectic around here and that was the furthest thing from my mind.

Beautiful frosty purple buds. :+1: :sunglasses:

So I am thinking about switching to autopots for an indoor grow. What is everyone using for material? What do you recomend to use for nutes in the resevoir? And when I ph my water how long will it stay ph’ed in the resevoir? Any ideas

I’m using coco/perlite 70/30. I’ve been using Prescription Blend nutrients minus the kelp due to crud build up from it. PH will likely drift up after a day or two so I just readjust PH right in the reservoir. When I mixup a new batch of nutes I check the PH at my valve and adjust accordingly trying to get to around 5.8-6.0. In veg I refill res about once a week, once in flower they start to uptake more water so I refill twice a week. I mix everything in a 5 gal bucket and refill as needed. Autopots make life a lot easier than watering everyday by hand.

Getting real close to my 1st auto pot run. I’ve heard from a lot of folks that the hydroton balls cause ph issues. I’m going to run the big chunky perlite in the bottom then a mixture, somewhere around 50/50 coco and regular perlite as a medium. Jacks321 is what I’ve been using in my soil grows for close to a year and I will stick with it in the autopots
