Store in a cool, dry space. They can remain viable for years.

Get them to 50% rh and seal in a jar in fridge, last for decades.

I store them in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator and they last indefinitely

If you want to keep seeds for a long time, make sure they are dry and put them in a plastic bag. You can add a gel pack to help reduce moisture in the bag. Try to remove as much air from the bag as you can. Seal the bag up and put it in another bag, again get the air out. Put it in an esky (small insulated container) and pop it in a chest freezer. If kept frozen they can last hundreds of years.

If you are only going to keep them for a few years, you can store them in a normal freezer or fridge. Put them in an esky in the fridge or freezer and try to avoid keeping them in frost free fridges and freezers.

Fridges and freezers with an auto defrost feature will heat up and defrost things before freezing them again. They usually do this each night. This will destroy seeds so try to use a fridge or freezer that doesn’t have an auto defrost feature. Chest freezers don’t normally have an auto defrost feature.

The reason I put seeds in an esky (small insulated box) is to help stop warm air getting onto the seeds when you open the fridge door or if the fridge/ freezer does do an auto defrost cycle. The insulated box will help keep the seeds colder for longer and they will be less likely to defrost and refreeze.

If you only plan on keeping the seeds for a few months, keep them cool, dry and dark.
