I tied these two ladies (Fruity Pebbles autos) down this morning and I’m looking for any input on how I did or things to change or improve. These are a direct sow into Mother Earth Groundswell and sprouted 6/14/24. I started them in plastic pots and transplanted to fabric pots. Plant 1 had the two lower yellow leaves, and 2 is without them.
Sorry I’m intruding I don’t how post on this but the tent is 4ft tall and should I top them anytime soon these are two different ladies anything would be much appreciated I just don’t like the droop on one.
I guess my next question then is once the secondary growth takes off do I keep tying down the lead branches? I’ve read you’re supposed to release them no later than 2 weeks into flower, is that correct?
Another question, sorry for so many. The LST thing is new to me. Not the best pics, but where would I tie next once these grow some more? I am switching to garden ties shortly.
I switched over to training wire yesterday evening and I’m surprised how easy it is to use compared to twine. Any insight on what to tie next would be greatly appreciated!
The secondary growth will take off soon. Tie them down to achieve the height and shape that you are after. There is no right or wrong.
LST more or less simulates the effects of the plant being trampled and bent by animals and whatnot.
When I use LST (every grow LOL) there is no clear “main top” so I end up with effectively 20 or more main tops. While many or most folks top their plants and use LST, I use LST alone, I don’t top. I am not opposed to topping my plants. I get excellent results without topping and the plants don’t need any recovery time because they don’t get damaged.
Edit: I can already see the secondary growth really taking off. You will be amazed. As the “true top” grows and bends upward keep pulling it down to promote secondary growth. I usually retie the top every few days.
