Hop along to Hopalong's indoor growings

The FastBuds girls are now on their 9th day, and seem to be pretty happy.

I like the uniformity, looks like none of them is behind in growth. Very Nice!

I just put these here for my own side by side- comparison. These are taken on days 28 and 29, I think m the growth in one day is substantial even when I forgot to plug in the heater and it was 17c in the tent just now.

The structure of Old Shool Blues. She is growing spiderlike branches everywhere!

Here is the Manbearalienpig. Similar branch growth only more bushy.

I have a feeling that these four girls are going to crowd my 4x4…

? For you @Hopalong Why are you pots on " risers" in the trays ? Just curious have my 3 in a tray also and are you top feeding?

@Bentstick I let them dry out a little. I just top dressed them and will give a watering or two from the top to sink the nutes deeper into the pots.

Some update on the harvest: the photoperiods yielded 70-80 grams each, and all had some seeds on them. Looks like the timer malfunction did do some damage after all.

On the positive note, my good friend, who smokes alot, has now sampled all the strains except for Hubbabubbahaze, and the 3 Bears OG x Super Orange Haze was the best smoke I have grown so far.

That was until he sampled the photoperiods. Those 3 strains ALL went to top 3 positions. Of all time, he added. So 3 of the best weeds he has ever smoked!

For me, I tried the Tropithai in Spannabis and it was the best I ever tried so I have to believe him… Looks like I’ll havve to do another round of photoperiods in the future lol…

Manbearalienpig. Monster of a name but also looking to be a monster of a plant!

The other of the lowest branches has a mutation, she is shooting out four branches per node, is almost as thick as the main stalk and has topped itself! This could be interesting if I can manage to get some stretch into her…

She is just barely showing sex so there might be lots of growth left!

Plants are growing along just fine. I never seem to get them to really stretch upwards, I wonder why? Should the light be all the way up in the roof or how?

The way I figure I save my light a little not having to blast it on full power, but am I trading off the upward stretch?

Is the yield normally bigger on taller plants, and are there any other benefits to having tall plants? I find the quality being good with squat plants, but maybe lose on yield?

Day 15 for the FastBuds. Today I filled the reservoir, added some CalMag and opened the valve, so wick watering starts! I think they have big enough roots already to feed from the bottom, these are 3 gallon pots.

What’s your light schedule? How long did you wait to flip? Those are photos correct?

Nice work my friend :+1: girls are doing fantastic, looks like a Polypoid branch on Manbearalienpig lol that branch is going to be full :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Have a great day my brother

That’s no fluke man thats what it means to me, it’s a healthy garden nice going.
Hey besides light output there are a few other factors affecting stretch, it’s an interesting subject itself.
I can use a bit of stretch 'cuz upon bending a limb horizontal the buds which were 3 to 4" spaced become a row 3 to 4" apart but that’s my plant shape works for me, I could only make yours worse lol

@Dennis62 Thank you my friend, yes they grow nicely now, lots of work to keep the conditions good one day can be -35c outside the next day 0c lol.

If AC Infinity sold their ai strips in Europe I’d get one for sure.

That polyploid branch scares me a little bit lol will be fun to see what kind of monster branch it will be!

Thanks for stopping by!

@Jaysittinback same here, I somehow keep training the plants more or less having a table like canopy and I have liked the bud quality.

I really don’t like to trim the loose lardy popcorn buds, it’s just so time consuming and frustrating!

I think its just the autos. The tallest autos ive grown have been outdoors and the were still pretty short around 1.5 feet.

With autos, I jack my light to the top to allow them to put some space between nodes for them to fill in with buds.

@Budbrother how much does that leave space between the light and the plants? You grow in a tent right?

It depends on the plants growth. Once they max height, I’ll adjust to 18” (47 cm) from canopy. Also, if you’re looking for more stretch, then start giving them more hours of dark.

@Budbrother now there’s an idea! The electricity prices are sky high here now, so maybe I’ll switch to 18/6 until the stretch is over.

Then back to 20/4 blasting for the bulking phase.
