Hooscrazy 2025 Central Virginia Grow

Late posting but not starting. Little different circumstances for me this year as I retired last September and now have way too much time on my hands now. Started my seeds for myself (Gold Leaf feminized photos x 4) and 4 White Widow Autoflowers for my Son In Law.. All seeds are from ILGM. Used the wet paper towel method to pop (8/8 sprouted). Transplanted sprouts to red solo cups on 4/20 and 4/21. Soil is blend of compost, top soil and a fair bit of chicken shit. Photos in 30 gallon grow bags. Autos in 5 gallon bags. Fox Farm nutes. Autos started flowering this weekend. Gold Leaf are thriving.

Good luck in the humidity! I’m just below you a state, but outside is tough most years.

Don’t I know it. Last year grew a Gold Leaf into early October through the humidity. She was massive. Then it rained 12 straight days. Bud rot got half the plant.
I do love Gold Leaf photos though and have had success with them.
Attached is a pic of the 2025 Gold Leafs from today after watering. Added a pic of Big Girl (Class of 22).

Nice. Those things were huge. I have some. Amnesia Haze, and Chocolope also, are supposed to get huge.

The Widow Autos looking pretty good. Two look fuller, one is doing the bean pole stretch and the runt is chugging along as well. Tornado watch just issued so all I can do is hit the bong, watch the radar and hope for the best.

9 days since last update. Nothing like 100F days with 80F nights. In spite of that and some pesky japanese beetles the plants are holding up. Watering daily. Relocated the autos to a spot that gives a little less direct sunlight. Let the photos remain in a very sunny area.

A week later and the heat wave finally broke yesterday. 3 inches rain last night and lower temperature/humidity for the weekend. The struggle has been real. Autos doing ok. They get way more shade than The Golden Girls who lost a lot of leaves this week. I thinned out where I could and watered aggressively.

Still battling heat, humidity, and slow moving thunder gushers. Managed to get all the autos dried and jarred with minimal loss to rot and mold (less than 1/4 oz). Drying biggest struggle with my first run of autos as I don’t have a conditioned space to use. Always a problem with my first run of autos. Changed up this time and did an aggressive wet trim, hung overnight and then chopped buds down and used racks and screen. Worked pretty well all things considered.
The Golden Girls still chugging through the heat. Only 3 months to go!

Two weeks later. Heat and humidity continue and the Golden Girls are getting daily watering. A couple days I had to water 2x. Golden Girl #1 started flowering last week. The other 3 are vegging hard still.
