What steps do you take when its time to harvest? Like a flush, 24 or 48 hrs darkness before you cut them etc? I know i saw it somewhere the steps but I ⁸honestly cant find them. Is anyone experienced or knowledgeable enough & willing to either tell me the steps or direct me to the grow guide please! Thank you in advance! I did this one time and just cant remember and find where i saw this guide or subject.if it was even on this site.
I myself remember cutting my plant at the base and hanging it upside down in darkness for a few days before i had enough time to trim it down a bit and dry & hang them by stem not the whole stalk but thay was my thing because i was busy at moment just happened to work out for me.
I cut it, hang a day or two, then cut each branch to dry in a dark cardboard box with a light fan blowing. Not direct on plants. Get down to 10-12% moisture( week or 2) then into jars.
Also during this time i’ll trim off all the big fan leaves. The rest get trimmed in the bowl trimmer.
Flushing is not necessary and darkness is not necessary. I chop when the plant is ready and I have the energy to do it. I wet trim, then wash it in water, lemon juice and baking soda and water and peroxcide in another bucket, plain water in another. I try to give it 14 days minimum @ 60°F 60%Rh You want to keep the drying environment at 60-60 or as close as you can for as long as can.
Im in dwc hydro, and i dont flush. Cut and hang plant in tent until dry enough to snap smaller branches. Its about 5-7 days usually but depends on size of plant. Then cut off and trim buds. Place in bucket with lid and burp daily until ready to jar up.
My last harvest was a very large plant so i had to harvest in stages, cutting off
branches until it was small enough to cut down, as im limited on space to cut and flip a plant of that size. Heres the 1st stage
Second stage
And final stage
TU I’m getting ready tomorrow to cut & flip them upside-down to hang for a day or 2 then ill trim it down like you did and hang for a bit longer same way you did it i remember most of it but its that last step or 2 right before you cut them which im doing the flush & darkness just in case this is where I was confused the nost about because of contradicting statements & then i couldn’t find the article or journel/ grow guide concerningthese steps & on wether you should flush with water & do the 24 to 48 hours of darkness. I just couldn’t find the place i once seen the directions but . I did them just in case & I’m cutting one tonight & other tomorrow Thank.you for your wisdom & time it took for you to read & respond hope you all the best!
Just keep checking back if you need help. You got this.
Flushing before harvest is bro science same with 48 hours of darkness before chopping. Its ok to stop feeding the last couple of weeks to save on Nutrients but flushing is not necessary. Nowhere in nature is it dark for 48 hours. There are some fruits and veggies that are harvested at night, but thats because of cooler temperatures at night helps keep them from wilting prematurely and wine grapes from starting to ferment. Ive harvested my outdoor plants at all different times, day and night absolutely no noticeable difference. Just chop the plant when its ready and dry it the best you can, the slower the better and dont stess all that bro science. Get yourself a moisture meter dry it to 11-12% moisture this is the one I use
