Hellraiser grows Zkittlez and Banana Kush in coco with Jacks 321

@hellraiser, I’m about to use my cloning bucket for the first time, and I can’t find my instructions…I know mine is different from yours slightly, but idk how much water to put in it, is the a set distance I should be from the bottom of the cuttings?

Not so much growing traits, it all comes down to the smoke test. I’m looking for unicorns, the best of the best. A special girl with a great high AND great taste. Also different strains for different purposes. A sativa dominate day weed that lets me function and leaves me clean, not tired and a powerful night weed indica dominate thats good for relieving pain and insomnia and stones you to the bone.

My favorite day weed is my better Blue Dream pheno that has both great taste and high. She’s a great yielder as well with huge dense strawberry size buds and low leaf ratio.

My favorite night weed is my Cherry Ice Cream, it is exceptionally strong and tastes great with amazing trich coverage. Nice bonus is she’s a great yielder and not finicky about nutes and her leaves turn cherry red at harvest time, just a beautiful plant.

So I feel pretty good with those 2 unicorns in my stable and will look to add more great specimens I can keep around and play with their genetics, do some crossing.

Good strong growth is a good indicator though. It’s not a coincidence that the plant I give the #1 designation to is often the keeper of the bunch, like GG1 was the best of the Gorillas and BD1 was the better pheno of the Blue Dreams, both of those were the biggest healthiest plants of the group. Just like Z1 is the biggest Zkittlez and wouldn’t surprise me if she turns out to be the best of that group.

Best to clone everything, that way you already have a clone to use as a mother if you decide one is worthy.

The 4 Zkittlez plants have been cloned, just in case one is worth keeping.

My cloning bucket took 4 gallons to be right under the spray head. Don’t want to go over the spray head.

Day 4 of flowering

Running about 580 watts, getting 900 μmols in the center of the canopy with it falling to 830-850 in the edges and corners

I see all those leaves and think I really need to defoliate

Zkittlez has lots of huge leaves, they lay on top of each other and create wet spots, time to get rid of some leaves, open up the canopy a bit, more air flow, less humidity.

Removed a bunch of leaves

I don’t go by any hard fast rules with defoliating, I defoliate when I feel it’s time to do so.

Much better now, and still has plenty of leaves.

It’s crazy the difference in growth you have vs my plants started just a couple days after yours

Yes, after the seedling stage, every watering has been a feeding with Jacks. I plan on cutting out nutes and go water only for last 2 weeks before harvest as I usually do.

For my first feeding I gave a tsp of earth juice rainbow mix would it be ok to just switch to Jacks 321 or would that be a bad idea?

Sure, you could switch to Jacks anytime.

Awesome thank you!

I feel the same way!

Is 6.0-6.5 still a good range when using pro mix hp? Or should o be lower like with coco??

I’ve heard of growers doing well at 5.8-6.0 with Promix HP. I used it years back and did 6.5 ph (my usual for peat based mixes) and had no problems.

Hellraiser that is the strain that I am trying to get going and to survive. I think the 2 that I was having issues with might make it.

The one thathat looks like dirt I worked the leaf out from the dirt. Any suggestions

Just let them grow, don’t keep the soil constantly moist or they can damp off and die, think wet/dry cycles. when I’m raising seedlings, I mostly ignore them other than to pick up the pot or cup daily to see if they feel light and need watering again.
