See he has a nice flat top. Your training is on time. I need to go back on some of your stuff. Reg are so different. Autos and the ones you grow look easy. I see where growers freak out. The colors change so much. You need to understand the root growth and watering with those. I’m not going to lie. Got some autos seeds. I’ll start with one. Lol. Not yet. I think I would just let them go. 9 foot ceilings sounds good for that.
Wow!!
I wanted to do something different about the bottom nodes, and that is something I can try on my next grow (~4 weeks from current harvest) I’ll drop the one AK seed and 1 GSCE, with the intent to get the AK to germ and have the gs as back up. I want the AK to seed with the light leak.
If you grew her under or would under 600w, did you lower the height to keep the height of her down? I typically try to keep them around 18" to 24" as you suggest.
How many weeks did it take to get 16 nodes?
So you could have pulled a eazy pound off 1 plant in a 3x3.
Amazing girl, beautiful! Thanks for the follow up my friend!
I have a couple 3x3 Gorilla tents that are 83" tall, bought them for the extra height.
I let her get pretty big in veg (about 28-30") as I really didn’t expect too much of a flowering stretch from her as both the Cherry and Bubba are not big stretchers in flowering. When I started letting her keep the node branches, she took full advantage of it and grew those branches out very quickly, quickest branch growth I’ve ever seen. Topping a couple weeks before flowering would help keep it shorter.
That plant started out as a solo cup challenge plant that I decided really needed to be potted up to see her full potential, and that ended up being a good decision. She was vegged around 12 weeks but was in a solo cup for first 6 weeks before I said the hell with that and potted her up, so could have gone faster. You could reduce the node numbers down as well, like remove first 6 node branches, let 4 or 5 nodes of branches grow, top, let it recover a week or 2, then flower.
No biggie, have had plenty of 1 pound harvests from 1 plant in a 3x3 over the years (with a 600 watt HPS), wasn’t even trying for that kind of weight in this experimental grow, was just a test of that grow style that I had thought may bring good results.
I had also let her keep most of her leaves (other than cleaning up the bottom) until a few weeks into flowering, so while I was removing branches ASAP from the nodes, left the leaves that would help fuel rapid growth once I allowed the plant to start keep branches.
The price. Lol. I like them. I have found a off brand. That looks like the GG tents. Yea you got to have 80 in. I have a 4x4 I’m cutting the top. Adding 11/2 I hope it will work.
I’ll be glad to show you some balls, give me a sec.
Time to check the solo cup sex change.
I actually saw some balls last night that looked ready to burst. LOL that really sounds bad.
Mother Nature knows how to manscape the best. Mighty fine looking balls!
Time for some pollination, perfect timing!
Week 4 of flowering is the perfect time to pollinate to give the seeds plenty of time to mature.
I walked the solo cup over to the flowering tent, turned off the fans and just thumped the branch with balls and pollen over the front right Cherry clone (on AN) and watched a cloud of pollen rain down on her buds. Will leave fans off for a while and let the pistils soak up some pollen.
You can see the pollen clumps
After the picture I moved the pollen clumps to the buds by grabbing the leaf by the tip and rubbing the clump into the nearest bud.
I will also keep the solo cup plant around and let it pollinate itself (already have I’m sure seeing how much pollen came down with a thump) and save those seeds as well.
Thanks! LOL
Awwwwww yeah!!! Nice work! Now to wait for the pistil change! Congratulations and excellent job!
Thanks! Yeah the early pistil change will show whether pollination was a success or not.
@Hellraiser i feel naughty now
Yeah!
Dang that stuff worked alot faster!
Our @Hellraiser is a determined one that’s for sure.
Ps congrats on player of the month, but we all know it’s been like that for multiple months in a row lol
Thanks!
I noticed a few balls last night even before I sprayed the STS. so wasn’t the STS. Though STS may give it a lot more balls than I need at this point but I’ll save all excess pollen in the freezer, so I won’t have to do this again next time I want to make seeds.
At this point I don’t think it’s because of the CS either as last time I used CS it did not take this long. I think what really created the male flowers was when I decided the CS was not working and I started using light during the dark period. Stem splitting may have helped as well.
For the last 10 days or so, I’ve been pulling the solo cup plant out to the living room and it spent it’s nights there with enough ambient light to make it unhappy but not enough for a reveg.
When one thing doesn’t work, I throw a bunch of things at the problem and see what sticks. I never give up.
Throw the kitchen sink at it yeah! Lol
Well done @Hellraiser !
Now question is how do I get seeds? We do live in the same state ya’ know, wink wink, LOL.
And congrats on Valued member of the month…You are for sure an MVP kind sir!
Thanks! Still got a way to go before I start thinking about seed distribution.
Distribute some to me ill test em out too lol
