I know this is over 2 years old but i have been having issues with Coast of Maine Stonington Blend and Jacks 321 once i hit mid flower the pH would tank up to 7.5 so i am in the process of switching to Promix HP and i read your comment and i know it has to be something i am doing wrong. ?

Do u add hydroguard to the mix at all. Or silica is good for raising the ph after mixed up. Silica would be the start of u use that try to cut back or delete it from the mix and see if it persists still. If it still tanks on ya then id suggest temps of water or something making it jump. Hydroguatd is good for helping keep a stady ph but may also be the ph up and down u use also. A ph professional veraion will prolly help hold more steady numbers for u. I have been using bloom city ph pro and it works great. Gh ph up and down i always had to adjust the ph afyer 2 days or so with bloom city its pretry consistent for me now.

Yeah, i was using Silica every feed. About 5-10ml per gal… i am using GH up & down also. I am switching mediums also. I am starting with ProMix HP for my next grow. I am going to get some of that Bloom City pH Pro. You probably correct on the Silica and stuff. I mix in my silica first then pH it down to 7.0 then add the required amounts of Jacks 321. I think being in ProMix HP niw instead of soil. I’ll do better. I have to pH everything like hydro and thats what i get when i mix everything up. 6.0 pH.

Sounds like u know whats going on then which os good. I did first run in ffof and switched to coco tried cocoloco and didnt like it at all so went to canna coco and i love it. About as hydro as ur gonna be without being hydro.

I think i am eventually going straight coco also. I am not having any issues with the ProMix HP at all but it is taking a week in between waterings. I even added extra perlite. I did raise the waterbed an inch by layering the bottom of the pots with perlite to aide in drainage but in retrospect all i did was raise the saturation zone and i am thinking that the added perlite on the bottom is retaining moisture and slowing down evaporation.
