(Aquaponic DWC & RDWC like to have higher amounts of o2 so the roots dont rot. It also helps if the system is mature, to allow the beneficial bacteria to do their job. Mature systems also have beneficial bacteria population to help prevent any rotting.)
Good morning @Aquaponic_Dumme that’s for info, I hope that cleared things up for @Mitak17. I recently set up my minnow trap trying to catch crayfish and caught lots of shortfin mollies. After research them I found them very interestng, very hardy fish. I don’t know how to put links but here’s a pic of the info.
they actually survived in waters contaminated with h2s. Awesome little fish. Great for beginners.

Hi, I will do so soon afterwards step by step, but now spatter to the roots, the fish eat them ok so I would try to think of something like a protective net on roots that would protect them but would not restrict and would look normal in that aquarium you mean that it could come out?
