Hello friends
I’ve got a plant that I flipped to flower on 3/18. It’s time to feed, but before I do that I need some advice:
Do I want to flush while trichomes are still developing or do I wait to flush until after they’ve achieved desired color?
Is she Ready or more time?
Thanks!
See (mediocre) photos.
In the second picture, the trichomes shows a lot of amber and the pistils have turned red and inward. For me, she would be harvest ready.
If you want to flush, now would be the time. I would let her spend one last night and would chop her just before the lights come back on.
@kaptain3d
Thank you for the reply!
If I only flush once before chop, is that enough to clear her out? Should I use a certain amount of balanced water to flush given she’s in a 5 gal pot?
I was under the assumption not adequately flushing will result in worse tasting bud. Am I just SOL on this one due to timing?
I couldn’t say… I never flush
And I’ve yet to receive any complaints about my buds
@Growdoc , @Budbrother , @dbrn32 , any suggestions?
And you Sir @merlin44 ? Any ideas?
All of the tests that I have read indicate that flushing has no effect on the final buds. Proper drying and curing will produce the best taste.
I’ve read some of your journals. If you don’t flush I see no reason to second guess it!
Okay, then. Tomorrow I chop!

What’s your drying/curing process if you don’t mind?
(I know I can search posts and find answers, but while I have you)
I totally agree with @merlin44 . I’ve seen similar research with the same results.
In the perfect world I try to dry at 60 - 65 F & 60% rH for 7 to 10 days. Maintain about 60% rh and less than 70 F for the cure, burping as needed.
I dry by weight. When the drying plants are 25 - 27% of the chop weight, I know it is time to trim and jar for cure.
Other folks like @Growdoc and @kaptain3d have better drying and curing techniques. I grow for personal use and I have gotten much less particular.

I do the same as you my friend.
Thank you both @merlin44 @kaptain3d
Grow for personal use and only my 3rd plant. So, lots to learn yet.
I learned to grow right here from folks like @kaptain3d. That was eight years ago. You are in the right place to learn the trade.
I don’t flush, have never been able to tell a difference, I feed right up til chop, though I’ll back off on EC as they slow up drinking. Some do water only last week or so but only to save on nutes. I want them to be as fat as possible, so I feed right through.

I see maybe 50/50 amber, but I only see 50/50
I never flush. At least not my soil.
I don’t flush the vegetables or herbs I grow either.
I’m a hard no on flushing, just my humble opinion.
@SpaceFace looks like a solid 3rd attempt to me man. Enjoy the harvest!
I swear @kaptain3d you may be part robot… Sometimes I barely finish my post and you’ve already hit like.
I mean if I was gonna be a robotic/android lifeform I would definitely choose to be Mr. Data
