It might take them a little longer to poke thru. I’m a little impatient so I keep mine only about 1/4 of an inch. Then once they sprout I bring the soil in around them. (10 different ways to do everything)
They will be busting through soon.I’d be surprised if you didn’t see them later today or tomorrow morning! @GetbackJoJo
Bubblegum autos germed last Sunday. I expect the same from yours. Esp inside, main thing is. Do not over soak lol see so many on here waiting weeks for a sprout when they drowned it the first day.
To cool Bro!
So glad to see your off and running now. You waited so long for this!
What’s the humidity inside your tent? You may not need that dome. I had to use one because the RH in my tent only runs in the 20s. Now that they are transplanted I use a humidifier to keep the tent above 50% RH.I kept the dome at 70 to 80%. The 90+ RH under your dome may be a little high, but probably fine for a week or so.
@Rugar89 I’ve got a small set-up in my garage for now. Going to move them outside in a couple weeks. The temp has been mid to upper 80’s and the RH has been staying in the upper 80’s as well. I can remove the dome and see what it does. I’ve got a small fan running to keep the air moving too.
Not telling you what to do, because as you know I’m a noob myself.
But if the RH was above 70% in my tent, I would remove the dome.
Your going to have to spray water in those cups several times a day to keep them from drying out with those temps. But you seen how mine thrived at temps at over a 100deg. I believe keeping the RH up was the key to them surviving.
I think I left mine on as well for the first two days. Then switched to 18/6 Then a few days later switched to 16/8 which I’ve been running ever since. The RH goes up when the light are out, at least mine does here.
Just misted the girls when I took these. Raised the light up to 30". Going to go to 18/6 tonight. I’ve got one that looks different than the others but she’ll catch up. Temp has been 83*- 91* and RH has stayed around 80. Nothing but 6.5 rainwater for misting.
When I start seeing the 3rd set of leaves, I’m going to start transitioning them out to the greenhouse. The Mrs. isn’t comfortable with them being in the garage.
I picked up a couple of the blue box hardware store’s sale fans today. Can’t wait to see what Mother Nature is going to do for them. I have a half dozen 5 gallon buckets placed around to catch rainwater and will get the rain barrel set up tomorrow.
Hey Jojo glad yang seeds finally came in. Now I’m sure you’ve been told but try not to over water them,it really easy to do.
I killed 12 seeds before I got my SD.
All 12 died of damping off. To much moisture at the stem, started wilting in middle of stem.
I know you’ve been reading alot, just thought I would give a heads up.
So I haven’t updated this in a couple days because there has been yet another change to the plan. After a “spirited” discussion with the Mrs I was voluntold to move the girls out of the garage to the greenhouse. Well, they were only a couple days old but being in the garage to start where the temps have been close to 90* and high humidity, I had hope they would make it. I moved (2) to the greenhouse and transplanted them into 7 gallon fabric pots with 1/3 FFHF on top and 2/3 HHOF on the bottom. One went to a gorilla grow close by, and the 4th had to be sacrificed to save the others. The two in the greenhouse did not get watered as I had just watered them yesterday morning. I also transplanted a number of other plants to help start filling up the greenhouse. I now have 2 tomato plants, sweet pepper plants, dill, basil, a big citronella plant, jasmine, and a couple of mint plants whose leaves currently look conveniently like mj leaves. I’ll post pics later.
I got home today fully expecting to see my girls slumped over and gone due to heat. We had a heat index of 97* today. Not a chance!! They both looked amazing! Their first set of leaves straight out at attention and a beautiful dark green. (My basil, not so much.) I think that start in the garage did it. Essential they came into this world under the same conditions. I am going to set up my (2) fans tonight to get the air moving in there.
My basil took a nose dive as soon as it went out into the garden. The second day it was almsot gone. Eaten by something. I managed to salvage two cuttings. Hoping to have basil for august! LOL
Gotta follow what the Mrs wants. Mine didn’t like them in the house either! @GetbackJoJo
Mine are now out in a shed in the backyard. It worked out fine!
