We finally got our monsoon. Just a couple months late. It rained for 3 weeks straight capped off with an inch of marble size hail. Sure am glad I had most of the girls covered, although the RP-43 regen got beaten up a little. I still had to pull them out of their holes so they could dry a little before they get their tea drench tomorrow. RP, Chocolope, and AT X GG4 are starting to fatten up. The rest of them seem to be a week or two behind. I did pollinate some of the lower branches a couple weeks ago. Hopefully I get some decent seeds.

The rest of the garden hadn’t fared quite so well. I had some nice watermelon getting close but they split with all the rain. I lost quite a few tomatoes too. My zucchini plant had taken over all the other squash, but I still haven’t been able to curb the blossom end rot. gotten tons of zucchini, but only the first two were edible. I’m hoping most of it will snap back as the soil dries a little, but I’m fairly sure I’m not getting any squash this year.

It’s doing decent. It was one of the 3 that wasn’t covered so it has been getting super saturated and a little hail beaten. Plus it was a couple weeks behind the bigger girls so she still has plenty of time to fill in some. It is pretty stinky and sticky so I still have hope for it even if I have to bring it inside to finish.

I had that issue last year. This year I added the shade cloth and doubled down on the mulch and it helped a ton.

Good report. That’s the resistance I was hoping for when I recommended them to you and Bent

Shade cloth and mulch saved my entire garden this year. I got 30 green peppers and counting from 1 plant.

Also did a true organic cannabis grow this summer and killing it so far barring freezing temperatures. The shade cloth was equally important in keeping major pests away (caterpillars)

PS. I got one watermelon this year. Total success :joy:.

It was freakin’ delicious! :face_savoring_food:
