Growing with Gl1tch

Sorry to hear this man. It’s absolutely understandable and shows your mom raised you properly imo. Don’t be a stranger you can still eye fuq buds. Pop in here when you can and keep your extended family updated. Please take care of yourself and know we are here when you need to vent.

I appreciate the sentiment everyone. I’ll probably still be around. I’m just going to have to shift over to growing some vegetables and herbs once I figure out where I’m going. They generally don’t look too kindly on stoners working around stuff that goes boom. I am kinda excited about the prospect of moving south where the water and soil is a little better.

If you find yourself near Houston give me a shout. Prayers for your family.

NASA has a few positions open at White Sands that sound pretty cool and I’m mostly qualified for, so I suppose Houston isn’t out of the question at some point.

Place is growing. I’ve got a dear friend thats an electrician at the Airport. Tons of work here. I also have some contacts with oil and gas I&E.

I get the feeling that’s where I’ll end up since it seems oil and gas is going to expand in a big way over the next few years and they are always hiring, but NASA, LANL, and the like would pay for me to finish my degree and actually work in a field I’m interested in. My dad used to tell me stories about all the cool projects he worked on at Lockheed and JPL. I thought those would be the coolest jobs ever, but I gave up on that when I quit school, lost my scholarships and couldn’t afford to go back to finish.

That’s sad to hear. Hope all works out. I’ve been unemployed for so long and it really stinks

Oh that sucks. No jobs or you not able to?

Oh I’m able. Been in sales for 25 years. I think once they see that I’m not young that I’m not getting any offers.

Working on starting a cactus nursery

I’ve been self employed for the last few years. I’d put in as many hours as I could in the spring and summer then take the cold months off, but that doesn’t look like an option any more.

That’s my retirement plan. I still have some years before that though.

Well I just turned 60 so this will be an early retirement if it works out! First display being setup for this weekend at a local orchard that gets a LOT of traffic this time of the year. Only ‘common’ cactus but I will eventually spray olive in more ‘rare’ cactus

Sounds pretty cool. good luck! I love getting lost in the mountains looking for cacti and shiny rocks.

LOL… ‘spray olive’ should have read ‘specialize’. Go figure how auto-correct did that one hahaha.
