Growing with Gl1tch

I’m sure it’s not quite that simple, but I can say that I haven’t seen much difference with or without. Even with the organic grow, I have seen no change since I stopped using recharge. I do mix some worm poo with my amendments when I top dress. So maybe that helps fill in some of the gaps. Perhaps recharge might be useful in conditioning sterile soil. For instance if you had to pasteurize your soil then I could see a value.

What exactly are we talking about here just building microbiology in the soil or inoculating new soil??

I think @Flatnut was asking if recharge would help release soluble calcium from the soil or water. As usual I got squirreled thinking about when a recharge would be useful. If you had some other opinions/facts I would love to hear them. I think my takeaway from the research I’ve done is that recharges might be useful for establishing the bacteria, fungi, and other microbes you want when the environment is right, but once they are there you have to maintain the soil environment to maintain soil biology. That will cause the biology to thrive and reproduce very quickly thus eliminating the need for future charges unless something goes wrong.

Agree. Once they exist they have to be kept healthy. I was hoping recharge would stimulate them, kinda like crank for roots. It seems it’s more for the recolonization more so? Sound about right or did I miss the whole board?

Maybe it’s best to use a time or two at start?

That’s what the molasses was for but you have to be careful not to overdue it. The more I research and think about it the more I seem to think that again if you maintain a happy environment then that alone should do the job. Adding sugars may be unnecessary or even overkill if everything is already happy.

@Gl1tch my thoughts are as a human I can easily over complicate anything. And man do I. So when I read these days I try to take it with a grain of salt.

So I’m going to give my new plant one dose of recharge in the begining and maybe one more towards end of flowering. Perphaps moderation is the key.

Like the dead said “Believe it if you need it If you don’t, just pass it on”

I still fubared about if your tap water doesn’t have over 70ppm the nutes don’t dissolve right. Not sure how I feel about that.

Imo thats bunk. Maybe there is a nute system that is that way but I’ve used low EC RO water for years and have never seen any evidence of that with GH nutes or my limited runs with several different fox farm combos.

I was getting the irrigation system cleaned up and ready for use when I spotted this gal hiding in the dark by my res. Upon closer inspection I saw at least 3 moving their egg sacks. I’m really beginning to love my cellar spiders. I now have a thriving population in my house and grow room and the flies and other pests are almost non existent. A great feat considering close to half the residents in my area have livestock. There are horse apples and cow chips everywhere.

I also found this gal hanging out in the outdoor garden. The pic really doesn’t do it justice. this was the biggest ladybug I’ve ever seen.

What a week. I was so tired the other day I turned my lights up to 70% instead of 50%. It also took me a couple days to catch it. Plus I either measured my amendment for my top dress incorrectly or 4.5 weeks was a little early to top dress. I am starting to see some yellow leaf tips on the OH 1 and 2. To top it all off, I accidentally cut the main stem on the OH1 a few nodes from the top. I cut about 20% of the way through it so now I’m not sure whether to just top it or to let it heal a little and try to keep training. At least the girl outside is doing well. She’s pretty close to full flower so I figure its time to start letting it grow up a for a couple weeks before dropping the second net. In spite of a rough start and less than ideal soil, it’s shaping up be a decent plant.

Shit happens brotha and hell that little snip aint going to slow her down for a second she will heal it up fast and move on

I’m not too worried about her being hurt in the log run. I did have to untie her because it was tearing the wound a little. I was thinking about just topping to keep my canopy even, but I waited too long and it’s too big to top now. I appreciate the reassurance though. I just get a little mad at myself when I hurt my plants doing something dumb even if it is minor like over adjusting the lights or nicking my plant with tie wire.

I transplanted the OH1 and 2 into their final 10 gal pots yesterday. The WW1 is soon to follow. I don’t think the little ones will be ready for a week or so, but both of them seem to be starting to take off. The OH2 has mostly healed up enough to resume training.

That was a typo it was OH2. The girl outside has been getting slightly wilted in the hot afternoon. I’m pretty sure the roots have spread out of the ffof I filled the hole with and reached my barren compacted clay soil. I have been researching how to test and amend my soil structure lately. I think if I can fix that outside it will make a huge difference. As it is now, water only penetrates about two inches into the native soil before it starts flooding and going places it shouldn’t. I tried to go for a big hole, apparently it wasn’t big enough. I need to get the greenhouse up too. Luna likes napping under my plant, and when she jumps up to guard dog she gets tangled in the net.

OH2 The LST got a little funny after untying the tip for a few days.

I finally dropped the OH3 and WW2 in their final pots. Finally the OH3 is starting to find it’s groove. I’ll give them a few days to get comfy in the new pots and then I think it’s time to top dress and flip the lights. I also realized I’m about to have to fire up more lights since I’m about to have problems fitting them all under a 4x4. I think that means it’s time to add yet another circuit. Hopefully 3 will get me there. That’s the last one I can add without a service upgrade. The Clem n Cheese outside is starting to really bud out. It would probably benefit from another round of topdressing also.

This is what I get for breaking the 2 dog rule. Meatwad came with some passengers. 13 of them to be precise. It has been obvious that she was pregnant for a while, but I sure wasn’t expecting that. Poor girl.

You’ve been busy. I wondered what you been up to. How the weather been? Everything looks great, except poor meatwad. 13 pups is a big litter. You got places for them to go or you going to be feeding the crew for awhile.

As far as service, ouch. I remember you saying you had to get triplex for upgrade.

Fortunately we are still getting quite a few afternoon showers and the temps have dipped a little. I don’t have homes for them yet, but I’m going to have figure something out quick. I certainly don’t want 16 dogs. I told my buddy I got her from that I was bringing his kids a basket full of puppies.

Its starting to get a lil cooler in the early mornings here too. The clem n cheese doesnt seemed to be phased by it.

She was loving it and the morning dew that comes from the 50 degree mornings. unfortunately, It’s been near triple digits and dryer than a popcorn fart this week. She is starting to drop a few yellow leaves now. I’m guessing it’s more a lack of water in my 9 PH soil since I’ve been dressing relatively heavily every three weeks. Hopefully the molasses water soak will help get things back in line. I top dressed everyone again on last Friday. I was going to wait another week to flip the lights. I was hoping to be able to stagger the outdoor and the indoor since I already have problems with enough drying space. So much for trying to go for small plants this time. Even when I do plan on keeping them small it just never works out that way. I guess I just need to expand my drying space. The 3’x12’ closet barely fits my normal harvest and this one is starting to look like my biggest indoor harvest yet. There I go counting unhatched chicks or planning for the future. I’m not sure which. Now I have to decide how many lights and how much space I’m using. I cant decide weather to go with the two four by fours or one of them and a 2x2 on each weak side of the 4x4. either way I go the total wattage is the same. I think the latter could be worked to get my wattage per square higher. I’m probably going to drop the net soon so I have to figure it out pretty quick.

Everything looks great. You going to be able to get by with everything on your loop? Or going to have to bury some triplex?

Are you gonna use one net for all the indoor plants?

I did a service calc the other day and I think I can squeak by for now. I discovered that a few of the circuits I had were unused and repurposed so I think I can make it all work if I use the right receptacles.
probably all one net, but I need to make some more space. I may just give each of the big OH their own 300w then the other 3 under the 600w. That would make it much easier to to get around everything, but I need more shelves.

Whew! It took three days to get it just the way I want it, but I finally got the grow room shuffled, lights remounted and rewired(Plugged into the bathroom GFCI that is currently unused via 25’ surge protector), Plants netted, and I even made a support gutter for my wires cuz it was ugly and it bothers me. I should be flipping the lights to 12/12 in the next few days provided everyone takes well to all the changes.
The outside girl looks like she may be turning the corner. Yesterday I pulled off any of the yellow leaves that would let go so I can see if she is improving. This evening she had greened up some and I noticed the colas did seem a bit bigger today. I also got the first whiff off of her. She’s starting to smell like funky oranges. Pretty much exactly like you’d expect from Clem n Cheese.
