Thanks @Not2SureYet
May the weather hold til the finish line
It really does seem there is a consistent quality of flowers to the plants this summer
Is there or have i just forgotten.
We have had the best summer weather in many years dry and windy.
You know if the early sample of the Lsd is anything to go by it wouldn’t be the greatest loss if it came down now.
Thanks for checking in
Cheers :beers:  :v:

I am not sure. I chop when cloudy. And even those I have had to take early all seemed to turn out fine. I have to go by what my friends say there

Good day / evening everyone in the land of mary Jane
Thats Easter over now for us here in little ol new zealand :new_zealand:
I clocked up 57 hrs of work
Autumn coming in fast now and with it brings dodgy weather cooler cloudy threatening to drizzle if not rain.
Im worrying from this time on about my flowers getting ruined by bud rot
And feeling helpless especially when away at work.
My under cover option not avaliable this year now and i have been given the ok to buy a cheap tunnel house
Easter got in the way of that order and then there will be delivery time :timer_clock:
Then set up time all takes time
By then my plants maybe wet so while at work i thought after having that early sample of Lsd
Should i bite the bullet and chop them now and loose potential best maturity while there happy and healthy or risk going on and dealing with potential disaster if bud rot sets in and i have to start throwing what was good bud out.
Its tough cause i love a bit of amber there at about week 6 i guess
Tough decision making
What does my growers world think
Thanks
Cheers :beers: :v:

Aaaww  nooo!! Was hoping the rains wouldn’t start on you for at least another month. I know it sucks to get that old dread in those nice buds. Tis what it is though. You could corral them up as best as ya can and put them under the shelter like you did for the lsd and kosher kush. That might keep them from getting too wet til your tunnel house makes it there. Maybe check the biggest buds and if mostly cloudy go ahead and take those and wait til the others ripen up. Still hoping the weather will cooperate for ya, somehow! Cheers man! :beers:

Thanks @ChebaMang
I actually feel very moved by your reply
I know.
Wish it would just rain hard then clear
This dreary grey sky damp morning dew and threat of drizzle any moment

Went round and gave all the plants a feed and found a tiny bit of rot starting on my garlic breath and cereal milk
Its started
Yes your right there is that shelter that i had the Lsd and kosher kush under.
I ended up taking them out from under there so they got more sunshine
I dont think the choppers are coming now
This late in the season
I did have that thought to put a few under there
Starting with garlic breath and cereal milk
Looks like.
Time just not on my side now im back to work.
Lost 3 weeks wages that ive got to make up.
Anyway thanks
Cheers :beers:  :v:

Sorry about the dreaded budrot. Your girls are beautiful. Your hard work shows. I had a cereal milk clone given to me a couple of days ago  I’m anxious to get her in the earthbox.
Wishing the rains goes and stays away for you. I hate to see the bud rot ruin your beautiful buds. :v::green_heart:

Thanks @GreenJewels
Yes it sucks all right.
I had the right idea for this year from here on
To get an area cleared for the under cover area to go but my back Injury has slowed that project down.
Involves chainsawing lots of long felled trees and moved.
Then used money for other projects.
So many great spots i could put them if it wasnt illegal and there wasnt so many thieves that would see them and would take them when not home or at night
I was on the verandah last night and i could smell them and they very separated in different locations and quite a distance from our house
These too elements really make the hobby more challenging and difficult
Thanks for sharing :+1:
Cheers  :v: :clinking_glasses:

3rd march 2024
Ive moved my garlic breath cereal milk plant from where it was to an area that will get earlier sun less dew more air movement as it has some bud rot forming in tbe cola that i pollinated but i dont see any seeds forming so that maybe a fail
Oh well

Cheers :beers:

You have way more experience growing outdoors dealing with bud rot etc than I do.
Here’s a quick thought that may not be realistic but here goes…
Piece of plastic pipe driven into ground and using clear umbrellas putting handle in the pipe covering the plant???
Could try it and see if it works. Other than strong wind ripping the umbrella up may help? Maybe tape the handle to the pipe too?
Haha

Good luck with things and hope the weather dries up for you

Interesting you should mention this idea @Skydiver
It has crossed my mind to do exactly that.
We could call it a new form of landscape art.
Umbrellas clear non the less scattered across my property
Then theres that interesting aroma that is now filling the air in the evenings :grinning:
Cheers :beers:  :v:
