Not sure if you meant trim or defoliate. I assume defoliation since you referenced only taking fan leaves. I personally will take big fans if they are blocking light to something, otherwise I leave them as they are solar panels for light that makes them grow. As for regular defoliation, I usually take any fans blocking budsites at around 3 weeks of flower and again at 6-7 and I’ll take a few more then. As for trimming, I rough trim them wet and dry in my DryDoc machines. I run them through the bowl trimmer when dry and jar up to cure, catching the trim for kief making. Hope that helps!
