Good Morning All. Putting up a new topic to start the planning for my next grow. I want to know what medium you use and what nutes and why you like them. My first grow was with FFOF and looking to change and would love to hear from the ILGM fam.

YOUUUUU KNOWWWWW! Lol, Promix BX with perlite and MC1 nutes, some Jacks too.
I use mothers earth grounds well soil been pretty happy with it mainly cause i can get it at wallys world and dont have to water as much
As far as nutes i use Jacks 321 which is pretty simple

Personally I’ve been using Pro-Mix for ever. I love the ease of it.
I tried coco, but it was too much work for me because I was watering/feeding manually. If I had an automated system, I might have stayed with coco.
For nutrients, I used Advanced Nutrients for a long while. It’s the easiest to use to get some really nice harvest. But it’s also one of the priciest.
I’ve tried plenty other make of nutrients, but lately my favorite has been Gaïa Green Nutrients.

Outdoors Sunshine mix #4, Mega Crop1 in 10 gallon bags with Bud explosion when starting to show budding, Indoors it’s Coco coir and Jacks in auto pots with a 12 gal res all with about 30% perlite. Why price point and some what easy on both ways untill you have 12 plants to water.
I’m a Canna Coco And Canna Nutrients kinda grower. And I use a Blumat irrigation system. Because watering/feeding in coco is very time consuming otherwise.
Which is the only reason I didn’t stick with it… It was too much work watering before and after work during the week… 
Coco/perlite in Autopots using Armor Si for silica, Cal/Mag, Mega Crop one part and in flower Bud explosion. Feels like a cheat code

Sunshine mix #4 and till this year was using gen hydro flora Nova gro and bloom for inside and outdoors. Hand watering.
This year switched to Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 for outside.
No more ph ing water or nutes.
So easy to use and plants are the healthiest I’ve had in a while.
Can’t see me going back to bottled nutes after this. Lol.
I love the ease of use of Gaïa Green products and the results are amazing, imo. Deeper colors and flavors for me…
It’s just a bit hard to get. They are often sold out… 
Coco and Jack’s 321, sweet and simple.
This last run was fox farm soils including 2 plants in full ocean forest. The rest had a 1/2 and 1/2 OF and HF
Nutrition is Dr Earth using the cannabis feed schedule card at high feed rate.
Water is RO due to 440 ppm of useless calcium and other hard parts. I amend it with BushDoctor at 5 to 3ml gallon rate which puts PPM at 120-150 ppm.
I am moving on from Fox Farm soils due to gnants and the way the pot consistency changes during the grow but have yet to decide. Leaning towards roots Organic original.
@Pothead64 yup I had lots of pH issues with FFOF… it started out great and the plants were doing fantastic, but it seems the older they got the worse they started looking. I still ended up with nice blooms, but the leaves themselves just look blah…

Im growing in a homemade living soil mix. I use mostly Roadside Organics but noticed the other day he doesnt seem be in operation anymore so I guess I will be rethinking that if no more is available when I run out.
Promix and Sunshine #4 = same. Same manufacturer, just branded differently for east and west coast; although these days Promix is available on the east coast now. Just know those two are interchangeable in a conversation.

I’ve been playing with mixing my own medium on the last two grows. My base is pretty basic, approx. 30% used soil from previous grows minus the main root balls (previous soil is mostly FF OF & HF), 10% FF Soil Conditioner, 30% worm castings, and 30% perlite. I mix that with the recommended amount of Gaia Green dry nutes, moisten it up and let it cook for at least 2 weeks. I use the same nutes throughout the grow and top water manually, no automation at this time. Happy growing!
Coco/perlite using Autopots and Jack’s.
Roots organic original soil and jacks 321. Feels like cheating it’s so easy.
Promix and 30%perlite. I use the cheaper promix premium moisture control soilless mix (red/black compressed bale) . 50 bales this year mixed with 8 fourcubic foot bags of perlite. Pricey even if cheaper. Jacks 3-2-1 which is also less expensive. Feeding 100 gal of nutes every other day. Went back to General Hydroponics 3 part Flora Series a couple weeks ago. May finish out with this or possibly go to Lucas Formula for budding. (Also using GH but different formulation which eliminates part A or Grow. ) Will be looking into a blumat system. Getting worn out packing my watering can around. Although hand watering does bring in an element of closeness with the plants rhythms. Water slowly , soak in the plants vibes as it soaks up the feed… slowly… see what I mean ??? Also currently using cal-mag (Bloom City, GH, Athena whichever is cheapest) Silica (again whichever is least expensive) Botanicare at the moment. Humboldt when this runs out. Also adding TPS Trichoderma for plants every 2 weeks or so with a nice dee freshwater only watering. Which I feel is important when pushing salts hard. And some real deep honesty here… I almost always feed at 1/2 the recommended strength with my well water. I know it seems completely counter intuitive but the rates they recommend combined with the frequency of fertigation is often excessive, imho. In some cases less is more. The trees are being given 20 gallons of nutes every other day. Especially in the high temperatures we are experiencing, copious amounts of weak solution are ticking all the boxes.
