Ok so day 33 here. Some have no purp but this one…what’s the diff…all the same seeds… everything
I have never grown that strain so I can’t help, but it is odd that one is considerably different from the other.
Big time… it’s a beast too…way bigger then her sisters!
Most marijuana hybrids aren’t as genetically stable as say the tomatoes they’ve been breeding for the last 50 years so often times you’ll get a plant that doesn’t share traits of the desired hybrid but will have a tendency to grow more like one of the parents.
It’s possible that plant is more akin to either Big Bud or Purple Urkle - the parents of the GDP strain.
It’s a pretty common occurrence in the marijuana growing industry…
It’s also the reason most all big time commercial grows use clones…genetic consistency.
edit: Probably the most steady MJ genetics are found in the older strains like Skunk and Northern Lights. But even they will throw a curve ball on occasion.
So you’re saying I scored! Lol… it’s healthy as so I’m kinda excited to see what I get.
Yeah - look up info on those strains and see if the look matches what you’ve got going.
It could conceivably be genetics from one of their parents.
Commercial agriculture has about a 100 year jump on us!
It wasn’t until the late 60s, early 70s when strains started being noticed and sought after eventually leading to breeding. So we’re actually doing pretty good considering.
A lot of guys take clones from oddballs just in case they do end up with that bomb plant.
i would! You never know!
She just needs more time grasshopper
Like @Tylersays mentioned. Every sibling different. Only way you would get something stable is by cloning the genetics you want
They are autos so it’s just a surprise
@Tylersays nailed it.
Although you can find some stable strains, even autos that do have colors very consistently.
GDP is one strain that a hit or miss
That comes natural with some strains. That one is a bit more pushy than the other is all. All should be okay I’m sure the other will change also maybe that one had a bit more of the cooler air blowing on that one plant more than the others. Maybe that one just took on a bit more nutes than the others. All looks good with them tho and I’d be happy to see them beauty. Colors
That’s good to know… sorta a little variety… a couple more have gained some purp, but it’s so interesting how each seed of the GDP had its own little traits . Kinda cool…grab bag of sorts… I’ve got two going that are super tall, some all green and some with purp… bonus. Lol
