helicopters scan my area for flowers pretty hard in the harvest season just curious what methods you guys have used to keep your garden hidden? Exspecially from
that go out looking for it.
They use ultraviolet light sensors to find your grow.
Cannabis is very good at reflecting this light spectrum. To solve this, you can either put it under a glass green house, or spread out your grow, so it’s not concentrated in one area. (6 plants in one spot)
Other options is to plant an autoflower near other trees. Photoperiod plants can start flowering in the shade.
Happy growing!
@Glock
Me personally I just keep each plant spread out far from each other as I tend to grow larger plants I always get really paranoid about copters once they get around 2lb+ But so far I’ve had some rather big ones and no issues yet in 17 years Of growing just wanted to see what other people are doing
I spread mine out and do my best to keep them growing tucked in with trees. Any lil gap between lower growth branches that gets at least 4 hrs of direct sunlight a day. You have to scout your area at different times of the day to determine the best spots.
I have also grown ducksfoot for many years. They become damn near impossible to find. I just know generally what trees and where to start looking for my plants; and still walk past them a few times.
Autoflowers are great as well. You can plant early enough to get a harvest in before the
start looking for flowering grows in September(ish). They remain small and hard to find if tucked in with trees.
Please remember: Leave cell phones at home. Never create a trail. Always mix up your entry and exit. If there is more than one of you, walk in each other’s footprints Take into account how much water you will have to carry and plant accordingly. Never leave any evidence ie. Cigaret butts or trash of any kind.
thats Pretty close to what I currently do and I’ve been wanting to try ducksfoot for the past two years (when I first heard of it) or abc (Australian bastard cannabis) for breeding but no idea where to get them exspecially abc. In recent years in stead of going in with trees I’ve opted to use cover plants that are local like giant ragweed and blackberry plants along with a few local plants I’m not sure the name of mixed with plant training to keep the over all height down and direct sun exposure going pretty much from sun up to sun down.
I plant in open areas in the woods with tomato plants around the plants
Hey @Josh1126 not sure that having tomatoes growing near your plants in the woods/bush is a good idea. If I was strolling around the woods and I saw something with bright red things hanging off it that looked out of place it would spike my curiosity an I’d have to check it out.
I would just spread your plants out far enough so they can kinda blend in with their surroundings so if someone walks by they might not even see them. They may smell them but with all the other smells in the woods it may not be too much of an issue. Also as @Budbrother mentioned don’t leave anything behind except ya babies, what you take in take out so it doesn’t look out of place. And if you’ve disturbed the look of the natural ground by digging holes try to replace the natural leaf litter or ground cover around your plants. Try not to break or cut the native plants in the area, this could also attract attention from an observant passerby. One other thing you should do to avoid being detected is not smoke tobacco, pot or anything else while your doing your thing and tending to your beloved weed. Strange smells out in the middle of nowhere will also attract attention if smelt by a passerby that maybe not close enough to see or hear you. No cooking bacon & eggs either. lol
Cheers & hope these tips come in handy to all.
When I did it in my youth with Oaxacan Mexican seeds I planted along desolate highways suuny sides of overpasses bridges with very good success planting in stagger lines, so not to give visual/heat signatures. You would be surprised the success, and I would dress in an adopt a highway dress always carrying a transparent/translucent garbage bag with an assortment of roadside rubbish to keep the probing eye people to not take a second look. One statistically must expect to loose 25 - 33.3% loss to people stumbling in one place through variables like a flat tire. People with flat tires pull over wherever it happens, and that’s where I lost the majority of my gorilla grows. Good luck, and much success in the new year with your new endeavor’s
