Ive been fighting caterpillars on my bigger GFOG I had to cut out some dead spots and cut some bud tips completely off. Fortunately she is almost ready to be chopped. I was planning to let her go a couple more weeks but I might do a partial harvest next weekend. Remove all the main colas and leave the rest for a couple more weeks.

Number of plants to make it- 3
Number of days from sprout- 105 or so
Number of days since flowers- 35-42 days roughly, depending on the plant.
Day/Night temp and RH- 75-99 days. 62-75 nights. RH- 45-65%
Watering frequency-
Daily watering on the fabric bags, about 2 gallons each, definitely drinking more as they are bulking up and the weather has been hot. I let them get to runoff and then sit in the small amount of runoff to reabsorb back up into the fabric bags. Anything left after about 30-45 minutes I dump out of the catch trays. The hydroponic one is STILL drinking like crazy. 6+ gallons a day.
Growers comments- All of the GFOG girlies are really stacking up and bulking up. Weight of the buds have become an issue, so there has had to be a lot of tying up and supporting of the branches. I have been fighting bugs and those caterpillars on a few of the plants. Using Jacks Dead Bug, but will switch to Monterey BT per @plumbdand as it targets caterpillars specifically if I continue to encounter them. They all look like they will produce a good harvest if everything stays on track. I’m going to say at least 2 weeks although I’m willing to cut earlier if the environment requires it. Some of the colas are just so nice and big. A couple of them on the tote are bigger than my forearms, and I’m not a small guy. I feel like there are a few of them that could be used as a baseball bat if needed  Hopefully everyone has a great day and your grows are doing well.

Orange an Green bags. Similar but different:

It’s ALIVE! Tote be doin’ it’s thang.

Here’s the girls today. Hope you enjoy them:

Happy Sunday to all the GFOG Growmies today. And, everyone else too. I’m inclusive like that!

Number of plants to make it- 3
Number of days from sprout- 112 or so
Number of days since flowers- 42-49 days roughly, depending on the plant.
Day/Night temp and RH- 75-94 days. 64-72 nights. RH- 45-65%, almost always close to 55%
Watering frequency-
Daily watering on the fabric bags, about 2 gallons each, definitely drinking more as they are bulking up and the weather has been hot. Luckily, we have had about a week of some cooler weather. Feeding 3X per week. I let them get to runoff and then sit in the small amount of runoff to reabsorb back up into the fabric bags. Anything left after about 30-45 minutes I dump out of the catch trays. The hydroponic one is STILL drinking like crazy. 6+ gallons a day. She’s so big now that I can’t pull her out of the tote for a reservoir change anymore without doing significant damage to the plant. Definitely a lesson learned for when I set up my next big plant tote.
Growers comments- All of the GFOG girlies are really stacking up and bulking up. Weight of the buds have become an issue, so there has had to be a lot of tying up and supporting of the branches. I have been fighting bugs and those caterpillars on a few of the plants. Using Jacks Dead Bug, but I’m so close to harvest that I really don’t want to spray anymore. Also getting some bud rot on parts due to the dew at nighttime. They all look like they will still produce a good harvest if everything stays on track. I’m going to say at least 2 weeks although I’m willing to cut earlier if the environment requires it. I went out today with the intent of possibly cutting today but they are just not there yet. It’s like a good smoked BBQ Brisket that has hit “The Stall”. Nothing that you can do but wait it out unless something else drastic happens.

Hopefully everyone has a great day and your grows are doing well.

I did decide to call the one in the tote Audrey from Little Shop Of Horrors…lol

Week 17

Seeds started: 4
Seeds sprout and making it: 2
Days since sprout: 122
Flowering: Al on 07/29, Cagney 08/03/25
Nutes; Green Planet flowering regimen, fed on Monday for Cagney , Al is fed promises. Watered roughly every 30 hrs
Weather: High 80s-90s and lows mid 60s to low 70s, RH around 32%

Well today is Al’s last day in sunlight. I am trying to figure out if I should chop or try to salvage another week. The rot and pests have hit it. I took my loupe out this morning and would actually be ok with harvest as most of the trichs are cloudy in buds. The caterpillars are becoming an issue up on top. Not on the bottom. My chickens can’t reach that high. But I also know most grow notes say at least 56 days of flowering and today I’m only on 47. However, it seems everyday this last week I removed another small bud for rot. I’d rather cut the loss of potency and cut the plant than to risk losing it all just for a few percentages of amber. The other option is to finish inside, but I don’t have 9ft ceilings. So it looks like the outcome is pretty much given. At sundown, the shears come out. How much remains tomorrow will be determined at the time. I might try to keep the bottom half if I don’t find any more rot or caterpillars at dusk.
Cagney lives on. No rot so far, no bugs, but has been hit by PWM twice already so I’ll be diligently inspecting for the next two weeks. I will attempt to keep this one going as long as possible. Tonight I’ll start shooting powder and finishing nute mixes.

All told I would still try these outside. Next time I try a mountain grow I’ll prep the soil with compost and aerate better beforehand. The aroma is AWESOME but also getting chuckles. Better watch the neighbors

Happy Sunday to all the GFOG participants today. Why does it seem like our group has gotten smaller or less responsive than some of the other groups? No matter, we are still here to represent!

Number of plants to make it- 3
Number of days from sprout- 119 or so
Number of days since flowers- 50-55 days roughly, depending on the plant.
Day/Night temp and RH- 75-94 days. 64-72 nights. RH- 45-65%, almost always close to 55%
Watering frequency-
Daily watering on the fabric bags, about 2 gallons each, definitely drinking more as they are bulking up and the weather has been kind of a mixed bagover the week. Some light showers at 88 degrees, hot at 92, cloud cover and 82. So a little varied.
Growers comments- I think this may be the last report before harvest. All of the GFOG ladies have been stacking and bulking up. Weight of the buds was an issue, so there was a lot of tying up and supporting of the branches. Been fighting bugs and those caterpillars on a few of the plants. Stopped using Jacks Dead Bug because I’m so close to harvest. Didn’t want to spray anymore. Also got some bud rot on parts due to dew at nighttime and cool mornings. Looking like a good harvest if everything stays on track. I
I went out today with the intent of cutting, but I’m going to wait just a bit more. The ladies are definitely self-canniblizing pretty hard, but been just water the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully everyone has a great day and your grows are doing well.

edit: Correction to the above post… I was feeding 3x per week until about 2 weeks ago. Have since just been doing just PH’d water before getting ready to harvest.

Orange (Masterblend) and Green (CX Nutrients) bags. Similar but different

Enjoy!

Week 18

Seeds started: 4
Seeds sprout and making it: 2
Days since sprout: 130 or so
Flowering: Al on 07/29, Cagney 08/03/25
Nutes; Green Planet flowering regimen, fed on Monday for Cagney started shooting powder and molasses for the finish
Al is swimming with the fishes as if 9/17
Weather: High 80s-90s and lows mid 60s to low 70s, RH around 80-95%

Al is dead. Long love Al. All nine feet cut down to stop the worsening damage and salvage some usable bud. Tested a bud and felt the effects were fine for me. What looked like bud rot was bud death via caterpillars. Chop chop says the clock, save what I can instead of watching all that hard work become a salad.

Cagney has some more pistil change, still pretty clear on trichs so I’ll keep going. However these humidity/rain levels are making me consider putting the remaining grow under an awning for protection. We shall see.

I’ll post some totals from all after the trim. But she smells fantastic

Lots of rain this week hardly any wind and sun, last 2 days have good breeze with sun, plants are having a chance to dry out, hope to curb the rot which has been some but not horrid, have one that can come down if need be but would like to hold off a few more days, one in about a week, other 1-1.5 weeks.

Grow them green and heathy :+1:
