My Brother on your Bluemat system is your Rez 5 feet off the ground or 5 feet from the top of the substrate. And do you use a pump or strictly gravity feed? I’m gonna have 8 plants think one 13 gallon Rez would work or should I use 2 ? I have 4 Rez’s I can use

He was having the same issue as me , the gravity fed idea is best for a 4x4 setup and requires at least 6 ft above soil also has to be perfectly level for all zones to be even. Pretty much all issues are solved by setting up a pump and air bladder with a pressure regulator (get the actual bluemat regulator). The real issue is its not a set it and leave it kinda thing , you will have to watch the moisture levels weekly after a few weeks in the ground you will find levels read differently and can run away on ya and cause a flood. And drybacks are tricky often the carrots will dry out just enough to need recalibration if you shut off the main line so its best to turn down each carrot instead. Handy for sure but a pulse meter or digital carrot seems to be a necessity if you plan on using crop steering techniques.

I prefer this type of setup over direct from ro line so its possible to adjust ph and can also run teas , microbes ect . Tho a inline ph controller straight off the ro would also be a great setup.

I forgot the pressure regulator in the links I posted. You’re gonna want one to prevent pressure change as rez lowers and the pressure drops or when topping off and pressure increases. A pump isn’t needed if rez is 5’ high and runs don’t exceed 20’. If you keep rez low like :frog: shows, then you will need a pump. The 13 gal rez should be plenty for your situation, and it could always be added to if needed.

5” or 9” carrots I only use 4 gallons of medium in my five gallon bags?

The standard 5” carrots in the kit. Your pots aren’t big or particularly deep and the 9” ones are for 10+ gal pots.

They were suggesting 9 I kinda thought they were a lil long especially with me using hydrotron in the bottom 1”. :victory_hand::love_you_gesture::oncoming_fist:

If you had a bed or a deep pot, then you would run 1-2 deep carrots with the standard ones. That way you have top and bottom moisture sensors.

Is this a reference to Ultra Hal?

2001 one of my all time favorites. If you add one letter to each letter of HAL you get IBM. End of the useless trivia :joy:.
