Frowned upon by younger family

Damn, the last line got me bad…

It was a really great topic to explore.
At 23 years old, with a 2-month-old daughter, I’m just beginning this journey of parenthood, but I’ve already found myself thinking a lot about the future and what it holds. Reading everyone’s perspectives here has been comforting, to know I’m not alone in these thoughts and experiences.

Edit: where i live it’s considered a heavy crime and people think it’s satans lsd plant or something like that, which makes people loose their minds. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Just try to grow it without anyone knowing. The fewer people that know you have it, the safer it is. Less chance of being robbed. Less chance of someone accidentally mentioning it.

Have a room where people don’t go and keep it locked at all times. Keep the curtains closed too so nobody outside can see it through the window. If anyone asks, you don’t grow (unless of course it’s legal in your state). Even then, the fewer people that know, the better.

Getting on in years you might take it for back, hip or knee pain. Arthritis is another reason to use it. If you are feeling unwell, some strains can reduce nausea and help improve your appetite. It can help you sleep better. If you have cancer it can help with that. If your child is concerned, just say it’s for your back pain, an old injury and it helps you sleep at night.

Just try not to mention it and don’t use it or have it on display when they are visiting. And definitely don’t let young children (under 18) see or have access to it because children are not allowed access to it even though it’s legal in some states. It’s usually still a criminal offense to supply it to people under 18 or let children be around it, have access to it, or be around drug paraphernalia. Generally penalties for people allowing children to have access to cannabis or other drugs, will result in a prison sentence. Access doesn’t just mean them using it, it means being able to see, touch or inhale/ ingest it. Check you local/ state’s Drug Act for more info, and don’t let young children see it.

I quit the bottle about two weeks ago. I love a good bourbon but I knew I couldn’t keep doing that. I had a negligent discharge with a firearm after a couple stout pours and that was a moment to be sure.

Dude I am proud of you and dont take that as condescending. I went 90 days to a country club detox. 80k a month. My insurance freaked but paid. They had a more holistic over hospital method. Let me fish…go out and be alone. Think. Havent had a drop since. Recovered my business. Retired. Stick it out man.

I’ll still drink a beer in summer, just one or two at most. I’ll taste my distilled spirits but don’t drink them. Just enjoy making!

Two are married and gone. One is still bouncing around between college and home.
I love my kids, but I am looking forward to tge quiet and the reduced drama when they are all out of the house.

They always come back. We have three boys and they are doing OK on their own but really just starting out finding their career paths.
