I did away with the tall skinny seedling. Got a new light and planted 2 seeds, both from the same vial. Here is what they look like after 8 days. One is doing well, the other one has not changed in 5 days. Both plants in same soil, same conditions. Is this strange or just the way seeds are ? The coloring is not the same, the tiny one is a deep green.
I’m not an expert, but I have watched 100’s of videos and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I can speak intelligently about this. I think the ghost of Tall Skinny is stealing all your nutrients.
I planted two seeds the same day. One took off, the other was slow out of the gate because I oversoaked it. Within a couple of weeks, the smaller plant became the bigger plant, so just hang in there. Make sure it’s directly under the light…if it’s a small light it might fall out of the prime light zone.

How moist is the soil in the tiny ones pot?
These don’t need much watering, and until they get bigger and develop roots they use the sucker leaves to get everything…
Getting them germinated and into veg stage is the hardest it gets…for me at least. Growing from seeds has its challenges…and the older the seeds get the harder it can get.

I will say there should be some holes in those plastic pots. Roots like air and pots without holes hold onto water longer sometimes making the root zone soggy which can lead to stunted growth patterns. I love the cheap fabric pots helps with over saturation which is the leading killer in seedling stage!
Other than that getting 2 identical plants from seed is just rarely if ever going to happen. Phenotypical variation is a real onery critter. I’ve planted many of the same seeds and had different plants every time. I have only had 1 pretty stable cultivar.
Looks kinda damp. Let it dry out for a few days, and when you water again, go a few inches away from the main stem so your roots start chasing water. Only need a cup or cup and a half for a lady that small.

Yeah, if you want identical plants, you need to clone. Think of phenotypes like brothers from the same parents. Unless they’re twins, they’re going to have different characteristics even though they’re from the same genes.
