From Seed to Smoke - Harvest Eagle's Journal vol. 1

Chocolate Haze has been successfully chopped and dried a bit fast but she’s in the cure bags with everyone else.

Gonna have to go through cleaning and prep procedures this weekend, then we’ll get things poppin’!

Chocolate Haze

Round 2 pic post trim

Will begin sampling as well. I actually haven’t been smoking for the last couple months, so it should be interesting. :joy:

Just tried a taste of Girl Scout Cookies Extreme. She’s tasting dank with an underlying sweetness. Probably needs to cure another couple weeks. Mellow, nearly spacy with euphoria. Very relaxing physically. Got that fuzzy feeling. See potential for couch lock. Will add other thoughts and appraisals as I get them.

Gonna start with notes on Sour Diesel. Spicy and earthy flavor, certainly needs more cure. Heavy cerebral onset. Feeling relaxed but not couch locked. Very pleasant.

Moving on.

I have made my soil for the next round!

We’re looking at approx 30 qts (2.5 bags) ocean forest, 8 qts perlite (1 bag), 16 qts peat moss(2 bags) and 16 qts happy frog(1 bag). All split 4 ways.

Ocean forest, perlite and peat moss all mixed. Half the happy frog mixed near top and other half poured into cups and over the top of each. Here’s our end result.

This also leaves me with half a bag or so of ocean forest to top of with after everything settles from watering and such.

I’ve also begun germination!

This round we’re running all RQS. I got some free Milky Way F1 seeds. They’re autos so I figured I’d give them a try. Running 2 of those.

Then I’m running Candy Kush Express and Honey Cream. Both fast flowering varieties.

The autos should be done a month or more early under the best conditions but it seemed like a fun experiment to me.

We’ll be doing pretty minimal training this round because I plan on having it be a bit faster than my last few runs. See what kind of yield I get.

Since I don’t love trim jail it may work out better for me to have more small harvests as opposed to 2 grand harvests a year. :joy: We’ll see how I feel about it come the end.

Germination is the same as before. 1 half paper towel torn into 4 pieces. Each piece folded in half, wet with filtered water and squeezed gently. Seed then placed a bit to the side of center and towel folded around it until it fit in my pain cups.

Now we play the waiting game.

Hopefully we’ll see the other two into some soul tomorrow.

Milky Way F1 #2 popped!

Still waiting on Candy Kush Express. I’ll give her another day or two then try sanding her pores. Y’know. Spa treatment.

The other three, however, all broke ground today!

We have Honey Cream

Milky way F1 #1

And Milky Way F1 #2 who some how sprouted more than the other 2 in a day less time. :joy:

So far so good, though I’m inclined to keep trying at the Candy Kush. I’m 100% success germinating until now so I’m feeling standoffish. :joy:

I’ve had a couple disappear into the aether after planting but I’m not inclined to accept a nonstarter without a fight. Gotta keep this party poppin’ after all.

Oh, and I did take notes on Durban Poison.

Uplifting, euphoric, focus inducing. Body feels slightly relaxed but also kind of charged. Pleasant buzz fueling it. Still needs cure but interesting flavor developing. Soft dankness and an almost minty note.

So though she didn’t appear very landrace sativa-y her effects are pretty on point for one. I’m happy with that.

Now just gotta taste if Chocolate Haze has enough cure to hint at a flavor.

It’s a bummer but I had to give up on that unresponsive seed. Let it go on Sunday. I put my last Candy Kush Express seed into germination and she popped this morning!

So Candy Kush is sown now.

The other ladies are doing well.

Milky Way 1

Milky Way 2

Honey Cream

They’re small now but they grow up so fast. We’ll be transplanting before y’know it!

Alright, so Candy Kush Express took a very long time to break ground but has. She produced a true leaf as well so hopefully things will progress for her soon. She is significantly behind the others but that’s fine as this was going to be a staggered harvest from inception.

Candy Kush Express

The other 3 are looking great! I forgot to give Mykos on transplant but will give some fish sh!t soon.

Candy Kush Express appears to be no more. Got busy and forgot to get her water for a day and she seems to be done. Spritzed and giving time but not hopeful. I’ve had nothing but trouble from that cultivar. :eyes:

Plotting what to plant in it’s place since it didn’t even grow enough to hurt the nutrients.

In other news, autos are crazy. Checked in today and realized they’re already starting to flower!

Milky Way F1 #1

Milky Way F1 #2

Their life cycle is apparently 70-75 days after germination so this makes sense in hindsight.

Jan 29th - Feb 3rd I reckon.

Honey Cream is also doing well in all her photo glory.

In case I’m not back right away, Happy Holidays to one and all! :tada: :tada: :tada:

Happy holidays to you too!

Due to those holidays I haven’t sown anything new :joy: was worried I’d miss a day or two and the seedlings tend to want that daily care.

The three that are going are going strong though!

Honey Cream

Gonna have to defoliate honey cream soon, she gettin’ some dense foliage. Might do that soon so when I finally flip her she’s recovered.

I’ve also FINALLY made my extensive collection of leaves into bubble hash! By extensive, I mean frozen since the first grow :joy: I procrastinate sometimes. Thanks to the post here, Frenchie and the other youtubers who showed me it’s really not that hard.

I did go the easy way and get a little washing machine though. Washing outside in the freezing cold to maintain my ice better. Worked very well.

I haven’t gotten around to figuring how much yet but I can say I filled like 13 5ml silicone containers and still have a lot drying. Great haul for something that would likely get thrown away otherwise.

I haven’t rolled it though, that’s 13 containers of sand, not bricks or temple balls yet. Need to get myself a wine bottle.

Still, been happy to top with my sandy creation and fill a couple ashed bowls for that truer taste. Very nostalgic, tastes like that hash I got damn near 20 years ago!

Once everything is cleaned up and put away I plan on converting some bud as well to free up some jars. I got a surprising amount from trim, interested to see what the flowers leave me with.

Thanks! Came out with like 30 5ml containers! Figuring 2g a pop if packed tight but I know I didn’t pack them all that well. Probably a bit south of 2oz.

Washing my White Widow stash right now since she hermied and eliminating some random nugs I had with some leaves I missed last time. I should make that 2oz anyway!

Here’s wash 1

Probably more hashing to come! Wanna wash the trim from Milky Way F1s right after harvest for some live product!

Plants are doing good. Fed the first time the other day and again yesterday. Soon it’ll be time to flush them lol.

Milky Way F1

Milky Way F1 #2

Honey Cream

Think I’m going to hold off until harvest then sow three autos and run them 12/12 with Honey Cream. Probably be done within a couple of weeks of each other that way.

It’s been a while, started classes in addition to work so been busy.

Chopped Milky Way #2 - Now henceforth Milky Way #1 because it was ready first. Did not think to picture while it was still planting but here’s the finished nuggies.

The other Milky Way is getting close.

Honey Cream still vegging and getting large so the flip will be soon, along with the rest of the auto harvest.

Will be making hash after I collect those leaves, maybe throw in a jar or two to make a full load. I’d use just the leaves for the specific flavor but I don’t think there will be enough to justify the work if I do that.

Thinking about popping some autos to ride through flower with honey cream. Will see after defoliation and maybe some lst to aim her away from the spots needed. Already have soil though!

Alrighty, been gone awhile. Finally finished this round of vocational education. Looking forward to more but not right now!

Took that other Milky Way F1 like a full month but harvested her a couple weeks ago. First plant dried kinda fast so not the best flavor but effects are great! Reminded me of KB from back in the day. Cerebral, strong, great chill, very euphoric.

This plant was not completely dry when I bagged it so dried it in short runs, sitting out on a tray.
She’s good and curing now. Have high hopes on the flavor profile in addition to effects!

So in other news, my plan on adding autos fell through because in the time Milky Way took to mature, Honey Cream kinda took over!

I flipped her when I harvested the auto so just gotta let her live out her flowering cycle. I anticipate a hellishly long stint in trim jail but should be marvelous yield.

I’d put pictures but apparently this website hates me now. If it decides to work again I’ll add in a post harvest pic or two and a pic of my tent’s new Queen. Lady Honey Cream the first!

Also, last round of hashing until it gets cold again coming up! Trim from the autos plus a couple old jars and then some random trim that was donated by a grower who does not do anything with their leaves.

I think next few rounds will be autos to eat up the seeds I have. Since I don’t have to change the lights I’ll probably just run 18/6 and sow directly after harvest unless an impediment comes up.

I like the volume, resilience and versatility of photos so will probably favor them long term. However I do love the bud to leaf ratio, speed and not being locked in trim jail for days. So autos are still loved.

Hopefully one day I’ll have 2 tents so that I can just do both in different spaces! Or more so I can play with cloning! A man can dream.
