Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil low soil pH

I can’t say enough for these domes. I have medical issues with my stomach (reason I use cannabis) it had me down last night. Puking and the whole nine yards. Humidifier was out but no way I could stand up long enough to fill it up. Sprayed the domes and put them on for the night. Check out the growth in one day with the domes on.

Thanks for the Kind words @Ncgreenthumber I’m actually thinking of moving away from the Kind soil next run. I’ve experienced phosphorus deficiencies in 3 of my 4 plants this run and had to amend it with bone meal. They’ve pulled out of it and are now in flower but we’ll see if it has any adverse effects come harvest.

Ps. Sorry I haven’t been around much. New job, new schedule, journal has been neglected. I’m still in the game but just haven’t had as much time to chill in here.

Great to see you back again my man . Well I have had a few deficiency issues myself with the kind soil , mainly PK but that’s easy enough to fix with amendments but you are right and I have actually started making my own super soil and have 3 test run plants in it right now . I will give the recipe if these plants show me that it has what it take to get them through to harvest. Hope your plants will bounce back and give you a bountiful harvest my man . Keep em mean and green man.

@Nicky seen the new journal and wanted to ask the bank you used. Not sure if it’s allowed on this forum but I’m having issues with delivery and wanted to see how long it took for you to receive them if shipped.

@Konflict would you be willing to detail how you check your soils pH?

Run off collected from feeding

Can also run a slurry test of not watering till runoff yet.

@Budbrother, how exactly is this done? And do we want the ph and ppms to be higher or lower and whts a good number??

@Konflict I would recommend the purest exhaust filter I purchased the 6x24 very pleased no odor . can run exhaust fan on the low end of medium speed and still have super negative pressure. The only thing I didn’t like when they ship they did not double box it showed up in the box with the picture on the front of it . Not a good thing in a non friendly state. I have tried the cheaper filters waste of money.

Do you mean a slurry test? I use a 1/2 piece of pipe to drive down into the roots. Tap out some soil from pipe tip into a cup. Weigh the soil out and add equal amount of water. Let sit 8-24hrs, longer is more accurate. Make sure to agitate this wet dirt a few times during this period. Then strain and squeeze out the water to test with a meter.

As far as ph and ppm goes. That’s dependent on many variables.

Welcome to the forum @Nuvo You should start a journal that way people can help you better. Tag me when you do.

Thank you Budbrother, I thought I had started a journal, but I’m not sure where. I’ll try again

I’m going to put it down in my info journal as the next in line. I went with a 6" terrabloom. It’s doing a good job so far. I have got to remember to stop hooking my filter up too soon. Used it with about a week to go with my humidifier. Didn’t realize that the excess moisture clogs them. Have a thin layer of white patches on the cover.

I have heard good things about the terrabloom filter. Yes I agree high humidity an moisture takes the life Span right out of a filter.

I too am experiencing low runoff PH levels with A FF soil. In 10ph, out 5.5ph. It is something that get’s worse as the grow goes on. At first it’s fine then with each watering seems to reduce further and further.

Welcome @l3loom have you verified your pH meter with a clean new bottle of 7 solution? I would be a little nervous watering in at 10 ph .

Just came thru a issue with it myself did a flush and problem went away.

@Audiofreak did you use a flushing agent or just go with water. I have a couple of Autos running a little lower ph than I would like. Thinking about doing the same.

You definitely need to calibrate your ph meter. It’s not likely that your PHing that high and have runoff be that low. Also Welcome to ILGM forum.

I had more than a ph problem. The ph issue was a symptom of a problem related to neuts too much or too little. Turned out the solve for both was FLUSH I ran 5 gal (ph) water, didn’t have the sledgehammer and the other stuff I was recommended. She recouped and started Full neuts as I flushed virtually all neuts out of the soil. Everything better now
