@Hoppiefrog
Oh man, I think I just had a
mouth-gasm, did you say lobster chowder plus I love homemade wontons as well!
Oh man sounds delicious,
canāt wait ā¦
(drools down the front of shirt)ā¦
Hahaha itās so simple too both actually.very fatty stuff but yum;)
I worry about the calories the next day, food is like harmony, to be enjoyed, by ALLā¦
I am going to a multi-cultural cook out soon, Iāll will swindle you an authentic egg-roll recipe, from my Asian friends (amazing cooks )
Thanks for the recipe. The beef wellington looks as good the second time.
I think my food always tastes better when I have a drink or two and a puff.
Oh definitely, I get more in my groove when I am high, I generally donāt taste food when cooking,
my brain already knows what I like,
so I tend to get creative and make it up, as I go along, it worksā¦
Most of the time
Edit: Make breather holes in top with a fork.
Thatās the key words, most of the time. Iāve had a few failures along the way. Not terrible, but definately not on the lets make it again list.
My son is graduating the 8th grade today. Weāre have a small get together on Sunday. I told him Iād cook what ever he wanted. He chose gyros. Never made them before but it seems straight forward. Get to try out a new cooking technique. Iāll post the recipe if it turns out alright.
When i was in high school and my mom worked, it was my job to make dinner for the fam. I liked making meat loaf and getting creative with what I threw into it, leftovers, weird ingredients, whatever. Almost cant ruin it. . . . almost! One time I thought colorful meat loaf would be cool. I added a bunch of those colorful balls u put on Christmas cookies, not thinking they were more than color, pure sugar. Omg dinner was so gross that night! I got a little less ācreativeā after that.
Hellās yeah thatās what Im Talking about tks brother;)
Gromies after my own heart, cue flashback.
On a Friday night I used to go to mates place and get on the fuel, with him and his brothers.
One night, everyone munchin hard.
I check the fridge for supplies and end up cooking this feast with lamb loin chops, delicious.
Next weekend, same scenario, boys bought lamb chops, cause they enjoyed it so much.
Anyway, Iām waaaay more wasted this night and get a bit too experimental, the feast is ruined, everyone is disappointed and the dog wonāt eat it
P.S mixing lemon cordial,
with peanut butter and honey is never a good idea
Ohhhhh love this thread already and i havent even scrolled through it yet thanks for the tag! @Enlightened420
@Hoppiefrog s lobster chowder is seriously mouth watering . Oh great, Its 9 am and now im craving it.
Alaskian king crab is king of foods I can only afford to eat once a year⦠What a shame
I have never tried any, but would seriously love to
I lived for a summer (when I was 10) on Chincoteague Island. It sits at the mouth of the Chesapeake. I can remember wading out into the bay with a dip net and netting seaweed patches to look for soft-shelled Jimmy crab: the best crab on Earth. My mom would clean em out whole, roll in flour and fry the whole crab then serve on a bun. Yummy. That fall we moved to Hampton Va and I ate a mountain of blue claw Jimmy crab caught in the tide canal behind the house.
Outta likes still. My mom lives in Virginia Beach. Iāve been eating softshell and blue crabs most of my life.
Thatās the one thing I miss from my time there (lived in California the rest of my life) was the seafood. I didnāt care for raw clams but everything else was a treat. All we have out here is Dungenes crab and I donāt care for it.
Yeah got a buddy that lives and grew up on the eastern shore Virginia side. I go down there and go clamming and oysters in all months that ends in a R. Had raw oysters for the first time in Memphis Tennessee, with a buddy of mine from Louisiana, when we were out one night dinking but havenāt had raw clams. Itās either clam chowder, steamed or fritters at my buddyās house. When I was in Okinawa as a kid, we would go to the beaches with some of the locals that had clearance to work with my dad. I remember them going out a low tide and coming back with octopus, cutting them up and eating them on the spot. Iāve tied the dungenes as well but, prefer the blue crab for taste
Thanks for the recipe and entertaining pics.
I grew up in Pasadena on Sunset Beach not too far from there at all. Beautiful area and some of the best seafood out there. Wish I never would have had to move away!
We made salmon patties tonight.
1 lb salmon
1/4c mayo
1 tbsp Dijon
1 egg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp dill
1/2c panko or crushed hot and spicy cheese itās.
2 think sliced green onion
1 tbsp tobasco
Salt/pepper
Chop salmon no skin or can of salmon
Mix all ingredients in blender except panko/cheese itās and salmon
Add wet mix to salmon, fold
Add panko/C.I. mix
Refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Put mix in 1/2 cup and plop it over and it makes perfect patties.
Fry in light oil.
Makes 5
I eat it with banana peppers and Sauer kraut and brown and Dijon mustard with dill on top
@Gremmall told his mom quit making them because she wasnt doing it right
