Flowering too early and low yield

I’m on my 8th White Widow autoflowering plant now (in tents, Happy Frog soil, Dyna-gro 9-3-6 food) and so far every plant has started flowering before 6 weeks. One started when she was 9 inches tall! My best yield from one plant has been 1/4 ounce. I’ve followed advice from various forums, adjusting lighting, temps, nutrients, watering schedules, etc but most of my plants are kinda scrawny and produce “wispy” buds. On the bright side, the smoke is exceptional! I just wish I was getting more. Any thoughts?

Wondering if the dynagrow is your only nutrient.
The 9-3-6 would be ok for early veg growth, but it wont help when it comes to making larger buds.
For that you need something with less N and more P & K
Its why people use 3 part systems like this…

Thanks, yes the Dynagro is all i’ve used. I’ll look into these. Another oddity; I plant two at a time, same batch of seeds, same soil, light, food, everything. One plant will have very broad, large leaves and the plant right next to it might have small, slender leaves. Is this normal?

yep, its just variation in the plants.
Just like two kids from the same parents will look and grow differently.
The only way to have identical plants is to clone them.

Thanks again. I’m very glad I started this “hobby” but it is definitely a learning process.

The most common cause of wispy buds is not enough light. Nutrients play in important role but with insufficient light, it will not matter what you feed you plants, the buds will not get large and dense.

Also, what size pots are you planting in, that can certainly affect plant size.

It also worth noting that the nutrient that you mention may be fine during veg, but has too much nitrogen for flowering. I have not researched it so don’t really know for certain.

I’m wondering if you are harvesting too early. You have any pictures?

What he said.

It might be best if we knew the whole process you use.
Its hardly ever just one thing…
Maybe someone could post a support ticket. I can never find it…Lol

Edit…Found it!

With no nutrients, just an auto seed in good soil and good lighting even with fairly bad environmental factors you should be able to produce at least a plant to this caliber
Wich sounds like more than you are currently.

Yes, you will need a bloom food and maybe some boosters. You’ll also want to ensure that your plants are getting enough light, not too much heat, and just the right amount of humidity. Make sure your pH matches your medium.

I’ve had autos begin flowering at 3 weeks, but still give me several ounces of dense nugs.
