FloridaSon's B.S. grow moved outside

@deb1 i’m exactly like you have always started in a paper towel pH my water with a little seaweed extract get them cracked open and then directly into soil I pick those up for $.50 each and I’ve heard people using them so I figured what the heck give it a try I will keep you up-to-date on how it works it might be a good thing for you as well but I completely understand what you’re saying

awesome @Hogmaster, let me know how you go , then i may give them a try.

I saw that Paranorman said something to you about those blocks. Let me know what you think of them for soil.

I’ve heard they hold moisture and was concerned about stem rot using them in soil. Plus the pH difference between rockwool and soil.

I like how they seem to split the roots better than soil, so I am very interested in your results of putting them in soil.

I’ll be waiting to hear your thoughts…

It’s been awhile, so…

BS2…

BS5…

It seems I’ve misjudged the timing. It’s a shame, but these won’t even make for a good sample before I have to cut them to force them back into veg.

I could cover them to a harvest, but that cuts my veg time. No big deal since they’re bag seed, but these will give me more to share later. Feeling stingy about my known strains! LMAO…

I can do some playing around with these in preparation for the clones that will be coming…

Do you have consider to monster crop a few clone from them since they are already flowering :wink:, just a thought…

I thought I was too far into flower for clones. The way I plan on cutting them back should essentially give me a monster crop effect.

I’ll be hitting you up for advice on pruning what comes back!

A little on the re-veg but mostly they looked healthy and I was thinking that they would make a good mainline. A couple of the plants looked a lot like the steps I took to do the SSH that I mainlined. It really increased my yield.

My main stalk on the SSH that I did mainline was huge and the plant would barely move with a strong fan blowing right on it. The start is in veg usually after you get 5-6 families of branches and take it back to 4 again. Mainline is a longer process than a regular grow due to the constant trimming and the plant catching up all the time. Veg in mainline can take 2-3 months but it will take off when you flower. It is really neat to see a stack of cola’s coming off one plant if it is done right.

Sounds like your technique is improving and working better than ever eh, @TxGrowman

I’m going to have to give that a shot so which ones do you recommend trimming I take it around the bottom so it has the energy to strengthen the 4
that it will have

Thank you for your kind words. You, and the information you bring, are also appreciated. It’s nice to know that I was a part of you deciding to stay and call this forum home.

I just killed both of them.

Maybe it was stress from the late cold snap or just bad genetics, but both of them had seeds forming.

Either way, I ripped them out in a fit of rage!

Jack Flash just replaced BS2 and my Big Bud from seed just replaced BS5. I needed to place them both anyway so getting rid of the bad genetics opened space for them.

I guess this will conclude this topic. I’ll start new topics later and link them to here once I know they took the transplant. I’m not worried, just been reminded lately about how things don’t always go the way you expect.

Murphy must die…

You may have me talked into a mainline plant. With my long veg season it seems ideal.

I wonder how Big Bud would do with it? The beefy stalks would be great for supporting what are supposed to be massive buds.

Mainline is pretty good brother, I think on my SD I have around 8 mains now and my unknown has about the same give or take one.
