Fizzy and the Beanstalk! Grow #5

All right, Kala is upright while the seed known at Terk ain’t doing squat. I do have two more GG seeds, I’ll give her couple of more days before I give up.

Don’t want to jump the gun, not sure I’d be able to house three GGs.

I was reviewing the Beanstalk directions, it’s formulated to work in a 5 gallon pot, so guess I’ll use the 3 gallons another time. Likely it would work out fine, but I think I’ll stick with their directions.

Got all the piping etc cleaned out, I’m putting a clean sock on the filter and then the tent will be ready to receive.

Kala got put under the Greenbeams lamp this morning, she was getting a wee bit leggy. They certainly are light hogs.

I think it may be time to start soaking another seed. I’ll take a closer look under some good light after coffee and see how we do.

Miss Plum is going to get moved upstairs too. She got a TON of leaves this year, but I suspect it wasn’t enough light to get her blooming. A winter in the fake tropical environment might do it.

I may put her into a 5 gal fabric pot also. She is a tree, after all.

This made me happy to read. I’m happy to hear miss plum is still around.

She’s gotten pretty big already, I’m thinking of putting her in one of the 5 gallon bags. She was very happy in the windowsill, but I think she will need very strong light to encourage blooming.

All right, I’ve been so busy I didn’t get around to dropping seed #2. Now I’m on the fence about whether to go with just one, or go ahead with the second.

Opinions?

You’ve seen my plant…I went one and it’s more than enough. I will probably only do one plant moving forward.

I am mainly making that decision due to lack of time in my day to day…but it’s also less filling up the auto pot tank, less nutes, less maintenance of the plants and I don’t get to smoke as often as I’d like.

Allll righty then! I went with just one and did the name change since I got a little Terk beanbag.

She’s healthy and ready to go into her forever home. Things have been jumping around here - hubby is coming home likely in around a week! Can’t hardly believe it!

In Odie news, today I heard him woofing a “different” woof and looked out the back door - just in time to see a huge ass hawk land on the top of our shed! He might have been going after squirrels - probably, actually - but Odie is a sitting duck on his run so I scooped him up and brought him inside. He was NOT amused.

Here she is! Happy baby Terk. She straightened her crooked stem and other than typical new leaf weirdness she’s perfect.

Her solo cup was full of roots. She’s ready to go!

Oh, and I need to reconfigure for one pot. I need some kind of fitting to choke off pot 2. Perhaps the old fold the tubing over and rubber banding it tightly will work.

Plus Miss Plum needs moving upstairs.

PS - This “get support” button is on my last nerve. Why is it in front of the posting box? Same problem on computer AND phone.

I had the same problem last week… and this week, the button disappeared from both my phone and computer… :man_shrugging:
A lot of people are having this same problem.

Hopefully they’ll fix it for everyone really soon. :crossed_fingers:

I’m the weirdo who hates Apple so I have a Galaxy phone, and a Windows based computer. Likely I’ll be the last to get fixed.

I’m the same kind of weirdo my friend! And mine is “fixed” already…

Hmmm. Maybe they are rolling out the fix one time zone at a time!

Congrats on the new baby Fiz!

They sell shut off valves for the autopot. I can’t remember if mine came with one or if I bought one. I just remember needing one last grow because one plant finished weeks before the other one did. I just cut the line on one pot and put the valve on. Check happy hydro. Hope that helps

My kit came with 3 or 4 of those. One for at the tank, and then a couple along the line. Love them!

I ordered a set of those earlier today. Didn’t want to pay Autopot shipping costs though so hopefully the Amazon ones will suffice.

@Spudgunner I have the two that came with the kit installed one post rez, one at the end of the line for cleaning. One more would have done me but oh well, nothing wrong with having extra parts.

Yeah I just checked mine. I have 2 as well, at res and at end. I just removed a pot from mine today, just unplug and replug, went from 4 plants to 3.

I ordered two of the taps from Autopot directly and also some more tubing. Better to have spare on hand and not need it than vice versa.

I live close to them apparently, they arrived very quickly and cut one into pot #2’s line. I’m aging water now and will add to the res tomorrow.

She’s within spitting distance of edge of the pot reach so I’m going to turn the system on as soon as I put the (pH adjusted) water in.

On another note - my husband took another trip to the hospital with a very bizarre case of low blood sugar that sent him into a seizure. It took a bit of doing to get it stabilized, so he’s in for two days. I’m hoping the nursing home still agrees to discharge him on the 8th.
