Bro, my wife wants some acres and I want a dog rescue. There’s a 15(?) acre property here already equipped with a 12 bed kennel, all independent plumbing, huge dog or small farm animal wash station. I mean it’s loaded. Only thing is it’s 1.1m. has a 3600sqst 5 bed, but the kennel area is state of the art for a personal property.

Widow Maker Auto…
Almost had a big booboo with the NL babies this early morning. I opened the air vent in the room and had the heater going last night, so an hour and a half after lights on it was 88° in the closet. With the addition of the UVA, the domes do like cars in summer time and heat builds up inside the cup. They were not happy.
I also put them on a white surface (2 gallon cooler) because the dadgum self watering bases (was just a riser) absorb the heat and get warm, too. This UVA ain’t no joke. The bar itself gets hot and the invisible UVA heats stuff up.
Anyways, closed damper, cranked up the exhaust, filled up little humidifier, and numbers are leveling out.

I’ve been thinking of using the watering bases.
What kind do you have and do you initially have to top water? When do you start them on the bottom feed?

I got the AC Infinity Self Watering Bases. The standard size fits up to 5 gallon bags. Tthey also have XL that I believe sits a 7? And you do start by top watering. I hadn’t even fed to runoff yet, before using this one.
From what I read here and there, the general consensus was as soon as roots appear out of the bottom of the bag. I had a noticeable root, than an “oh, there’s another”, filled the base up just over half way, and she has taken off immensely. I’d go take a pic of the roots, but my wife just closed the door because her office is in the same room.
After first fill (2/3), I let the res go under 1/4 full and filled to just over 3/4. That was 4 days ago. Then back to almost 3/4 Wednseday. This morning it was right 1/4 full, so I poured just over a half gallon of Jack’s to almost 7/8 full. It holds a gallon, so in the last 6 days(?) she has drank about about 2 gallons from the bottom.

I need to blow up 8 gallons of coco tomorrow. I have to get water to mix my Jack’s and do that. Which means I need to go now, so that the water will be warm enough by the time I start mixing. I guess I could just fill up all 4 buckets now, but dadgum does that look suspicious at 10pm in 42° weather.
