Overall plant looks good, a little droop between lights on lights off Is Not Unusual or before watering. Also as mentioned TDS meter excellent tool measuring when feeding and run off.
Thanks for the responses. After a good flush (4 gallons 6.0ph water only) with 1/2 gallon of runoff…she is doing well. Grew about two inches in three days. No more droopiness and the dark green has cleared. The TDS meter is on its way!
A few questions:
-
Using Root Organics soil - seems like a ton of perlite. Any suggestions on how often to water during flowering stage - week 2?
-
I may be missing this but can someone provide nute schedule and quantity during flowering stage (go trio)…or advise where to find the info in the Bible.
-
Is bone meal recommended at flowering?
-
We are hitting the second week of flowering 12/12…with the previous setback…do you anticipate significant delays in seeing pistils or other factors that take place during flowering?
Thanks a ton!!!
Roots Organic:

Already blended with correct proportions of perlite and pumice for excellent drainage and a vigorous root system.
Adding this natural light photo as a separate post. Cannot figure out how to edit the previous post!
@Covertgrower @PurpNGold74 @CMichGrower @kellydans can someone help with this please?
I usually water every 2 or 3 days during flowering stage. Check the weight of the pot is best way to tell when to water. The bigger the plant gets the more water it will take at each watering. Water slow to a runoff.
Good luck
Thanks @HappyHydroGrower
Anymore questions feel free to tag me back. Good luck and happy growing.
Thank you brother and thanks @kellydans !!
Calling in all the help possible. So, please whoever can help I appreciate it. Happy all the holidays we’ve missed and hope everyone is healthy. Now for the urgent matter…
Betty has been hit with spider mites. I rubbed her down with straight neem oil and also put dabs off neem oil here and there around the tent. The little pricks went running 100 miles per hour last night as the oils was being applied.
QUESTIONS:
No presence of mites this morning. What should I do about the white powder on the leaves? If there are no more bugs just leave the white powder?
Should I be watering with muted more often although the plant is not drying out? Just seems like my grow process is some what slow. Could be because there were a ton of mites!
Received TDS meter since last posting but cannot figure out how to calibrate and all the information available online knocked me off my feet. I don’t like to bug you guys for everything but I’m back here again!
Some details.
5 weeks into flower
Trio Nutes - 1 tsp 2 tsp 3 tsp once weekly
Rinse ph only - once weekly
Digital ph meter reads - 6.1 (runoff)
Organic soil with lots of perlite soil stay pretty moist
Humidity - 50-65
Temp -75

Thank you all in advance! Be safe and build knowledge
Your new conductivity meter ( TDS) should be pretty close out of the box. You can always purchase a bottle of standard solution of 2500 umho to verify. distilled water will check your zero. I have set zero on meters by just holding it out in the air . Hope that helps
Thanks a ton! Any thoughts on the feeding schedule at just once a week? And how about the white powder on the leaves?
I’m not familiar with feeding trio nutes. You can use your new meter to measure up strength you’re feeding. And also check you’re run off.
Yup not super experienced with the trio nor neem.
But the meter should be pretty close. Check ur tap water. Lol. Should be ~100. SHOULD.
The trio looks like whatever ur doing is working. Which one do u use 1-2-3 of?
The white specs… are they old mite bite marks or neem residue? If bite marks, they wont go anywhere. If neem id imagine spraying leaves and wiping would remove it.
Learning the life cycle of mites is very important. U may have wiped out adults on leaves. But babies are under leaves/in dirt and the neem wont effect eggs I believe. U have to eradicate them COMPLETELY. Check out @Skydiver ’s threads. He waged full on war for a solid year.
And yes. Mites will slow ur grow to a crawl
Good chance you’ve ruined your crop. Neem oil will permeate the flower, rendering it impossible to smoke and the active ingredient is toxic to eat.
You should be using both of these products:
https://www.amazon.com/Bonide-704725-Captain-Concentrate-1-Quart/dp/B001VJ83LW/?tag=greenrel-20
https://www.amazon.com/Safer-Brand-Caterpillar-Killer-Concentrate/dp/B00GVKZG8E/?tag=greenrel-20
Both use a bacterium (Spinosad and BtK) that are odor free, harmless to pets and people and can be sprayed up until the day of harvest. Alternate between them every five days.
Start with a wash down with a hose which will knock off most of the mites. Spray plant down with a dilute mix of 3% peroxide and distilled water (very important); about 1/2 cup per gallon. Pay particular attention to the undersides of leaves and remove any that are badly damaged. Let dry then hit with either CJ’s or Safer. Wait 5 days and repeat peroxide then use other product. Gonna have to do that for the rest of the grow.
Plan on doing a bud wash in peroxide as well.
This will rinse off with the peroxide.
I see you have gotten good advice, but i can add a couple points.
Get some Diatomaceous Food grade CODEX, and dust your floor. It will kill naything that walks on it by scratching it and then the pest dehydrates and dies. any eggs that harch, the hatchlings will get the same treatment. This will keep the mites from ever getting another foothold in your grow space.
If the post is still heavy, which means it still contains a good bit of moisture; Do not water until it lightens up.
Perlite provides aeration as much or more than it retains moisture, so do not worry about the perlite. In our hydro greehouse’s, we grow in bags that are filled completely with perlite. Not the only way, but it is common, especially in the South or regions that are hot as hell.
Hope this helps, Roger
p.s. Never ever use pool greade Diatomaceous earth. It is toxic to plants. Happy growing
Wanted to second on not using neem oil while flowering.
Ouch! I’ve really screwed up. My daughter thought neem oil was the go to product as she was give t hat advice on here years ago and had excellent results.
Im going to study all of this and get to work on a whole new approach to treating these critters. Thanks to everyone. Should’ve definitely reached out prior to leaping.
Oh, the Tri is from General Hydroponics. Using measurements according to the last line on the label which is I think flower to bloom stage. Now that the spider has eaten his way through maybe I should consider backing up to the previous stage.
You can use Neam meal added to the top soil mixed into the 1st inch or two. It seems to help control the ones in the soil some. If you have worms in the pots they don’t like the Neam at all and I’ve had them crawl out in mass right after application so when I do use it I don’t use as much as called for but maybe 1/4 - 1/2 of what they suggest if I have worms in the pots.
I’ve prey much gone to using predatory mites and other insects to fight the mites. Fight fire with fire and mites with mites…haha
Take a look at arbico Organics they have the critters to eat them.
Depending on what type of mites you have (good luck telling most are difficult and look different based on life cycle etc) and what temps and humidity you are running will help decide what species mite would work best.
I’ve called them a couple times and they helped me with choices.
Website also does a good job walking you through the critters range of environmental needs.
Good luck with them and keep feeding your endocannabinoid system
I’ve also used a sweeper hose end and just sucked the branches and leaves into the hose and sucked off any I could and their webbing etc.
You can also use Dr Bronners soap or another Castile type soap and mix with water and wipe the leaves down real good and then spray them off. The potassium salts of fatty acids in the Bronners will blow up soft bodied insects like mites and Covid virus and bacteria etc etc.
Thanks for chiming in bro! Good to see you still around
