Holy shit, that is a bunch of plants!! Hopefully the last peppers we have growing will put some fruit out before it gets too cold, its should be purple… never had a purple pepper before.
Before I get distracted… I never got a response about how long a single plant will take to fill out a 2x4 tent. I am going to guess something longer than 12 weeks for veg?
A single plant, indica, sativa? I could fill a 2x4 with a single heavy sativa in that time. Maybe more time with a heavy indica. It’s entirely different from strain to strain. if you have the time you can fill any tent with any strain. all this is based on how well you are maintaining the environment and needs of said plant.
I am hoping that it won’t come to me using a single lady for this tent, I would like to flip it within 6-7 weeks for flower which would allow me to keep the total grow to under 5 months. If that is possible anyways.
Right on. However unless you isolate a mother and take clones of plants you have already grown, it’s kind of up in the air of how they will “behave.” I like 6-12 week veg for indica dominant. 4-6 week veg for sativa dominant. BUT Hybrids are a guess, as you don’t know which way they will go.
Yeah I figured till I have much more experience with growing the same strain its all a guessing game for when they will be done. I am just giving the plants about 2-3 weeks in the solo cup, then transplanting into a 3gal for another 3-4 weeks, then into a 7gal for flower of 9-10 weeks. That is based on what I have been able to estimate off of other grows I have been able to glean information out of.
Hers my blue dream (2 plants) in a 7 gal in a 2x4 after 7 weeks of veg. 5’ tall.
Today 18 days into flower
Here is my Skywalker OG (2 plants) in 7 gal pots 1/3rd the height of blue dream 9 weeks veg.
Around 4 weeks flower
Oh holy…
Well then… I am kinda glad I didn’t get any blue dream yet(just bought them and GSCE today 10+10 sale, LOL)
Oh, I just started the last 5 seeds of the Amnesia Haze… hopefully one of them will be able to grow.
You got this!
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I will be keeping this updated.
I forgot to mention about the light. Its set to 40%(I don’t have a killawatt yet so I cant give that information) and its 16" above the seedlings leaves.
Honestly you don’t need a wattage meter. They are handy. Just read the plants or get a DLI app.
I downloaded one… its showing 18.6k lux at the leaves, is that where it should be for seedlings?
Sorry not too helpful with lux. I use Photone for iPhone to calculate DLI. Otherwise I judge by plants response to light based on manufacturers recommended hanging height and whether or not I increase wattage or lower the light.
Downloaded another app, I am showing that I have 35 DLI. For PPFD I’m showing 401.
Alright here’s some reference.
Clone/seedling
I’m running these at 30 dli or so
EDIT during the first 6 weeks or so of official flower push DLI to 50-60, then drop back down to recommended values.
Oh this is so much easier to understand! I raised the light up about 2-3" to drop it to around 30 DLI
Ayyye just keep an eye on them. If they react negatively reduce light.
I also removed 2 of the 4 rope hangers for the light… it was getting annoying as hell to adjust 4. Now I have hangers for another light or fans. I have an 11" amazon fan sitting on the floor right now, once the little lady gets bigger I’ll get one to hang up and get the top of the canopy.
Good. Hopefully that fan isn’t directly blowing on them. Just enough to let them flutter. Any who. Tag me anytime by hitting @Low i will do my best to answer, if I can’t I will help get the answer. I’ll tag you into my journal as well, feel free to ask me anything there, as well.
Awesome! thank you so much for the info!
No, the fan is angled up so that it bounces around in the tent. The little lady is gently swaying right now.
That is the fan I got, its only on the first setting. When the ladies get repotted into the 7gal ones I will have it between them blowing upwards.
