that would be optional but yes I do some light defoliation at the bottom of my plants, it promotes air flow around the base of your plants (less chance of any mold problems etc etc) and most people believe that any growth that won’t be receiving light come flowering time is just a waste of energy as your plant could be using that energy to promote bigger bud growth at the tops. some people even trim off the popcorn buds at the bottom (I however don’t go that far, I just try to get them where they can receive some light) you did an excellent job bending the branches btw. I myself like to go easy with it exactly how you did and just break some fibers in the stems but some people go really aggressive and basically snap the branches like you said you were seeing online haha. you did it just like I would do. should get great results from it  keep adjusting as needed until you fill in the gap and then switch to flower

too late to edit my post, by “keep adjusting as needed” I meant that as they recover they’ll want to grow straight up towards the light again and you can slightly bend them more as you see fit until you get them where you want them to be in the end

Thanks for the tips and encouragement! I seriously have no idea what I’m doing lol That was the problem I ran into in the beginning was everyone had 300 different ways to do stuff, nerd rage arguing over which was right. I’m just going to stick with what you guys are saying haha. And thanks for the bending trick. I’m going to trash some garbage leaves here in a bit and ill post some pictures afterwards.

Again thanks guys!

no problem :stuck_out_tongue: keep an eye on those branches btw and watch how much they beef up as they heal. the plant thinks its under attack (cause it basically is lmao) and it promotes growth in the damaged area. those branches will beef up fat as hell and that means come flower time those branches will have bigger colas  just ask if you have any questions I’ll be here

Bending nature to my will! Yeah only one video i watched showed the after effects and there was a big knot on the bend. I wont ague with bigger colas!

Alright. Did some trimming. Cleaned up some garbage leaves and it looks a bit more clean. The pile of leaves made me sad but it’s for the greater good! Does this look alright?

Looks good

Now they will concentrate their energy to the top of the plants

Hey guys! So I’ve been keeping an eye on this plant here and it’s just gradually getting worse.
Mind you, I haven’t been feeding ANY nutrients to these plants at all whatsoever because of the soil mixture I’ve used and figured I’d wait awhile to start tossing in some nutes. I’ve also read about if it’s too windy on the plant it can dry up and kill the leaves but I rotate my plants in the tent every few days or a week so they get an even amount of light and air, fans arent that crazy anyway in the tent.

Can you guys maybe give me an idea as to why its turning like this? It started out as just one branch of leaves and has slowly started in almost all of them.

Heres a better pic without grow lights.

to me it looks like a cal mag deficiency? does this look familiar? hard to tell though and I’m not the best at diagnosing deficiencies either but from those pics that’s what it appears to be. I would feed some cal mag and you might want to place that humidifier outside your tent next to an intake vent and let it get pulled in through air flow rather than just directly misting inside the tent like that. it could cause some problems you really don’t want to be dealing with.

Yeah! It looks like the last 2 in that picture. I’ll grab some cal mag tomorrow and see if that helps I didn’t even think of it being a deficiency. And thanks for the tip for the humidifier. I was going to take it out once I started flower but I’ll take it out now. I read a lot about mold in later stages, so thanks for that too.

Here are some slightly better pictures.

sounds good  It definitely couldn’t hurt to try some cal mag cause I really think that’s what it is. second opinion would be nice though but I’m pretty positive and it’s hard to over-do cal mag anyways so it really can’t hurt to try feeding some regardless if that’s your issue or not.

Sweet deal thanks fellas. I’ll grab a bottle tomorrow and dose it up a bit. Time for a bit of water anyhow. Appreciate the help!

Got some calmag and watered them. Should I cut off the dead leaves or just leave them be? I know ots probably not a big deal just wondering what you guys do. Let them fall off or cut them? I’m assuming the ones that have turned crispy on the ends won’t come back.

I also got some of this liquid seaweed as sort of a bundle, what do you guys think about this stuff?
