First Hydro Grow, let’s grow together!

hello there, i have a few questions. how far up do you fill your bucket?..i mean how far up to the net pot is it. and also is it possible those bottom leaves that are funkdafied came in contact with some nute water from your res?..lol im just gonna edit this right now because im gonna adviuse you to do things that everyone says not to so to fix that im gonna advise you get a small water pump run a hose to about outside middle through the net pot and drop the pump to the bottom of res let it recirculate nutes over roots and youll be good …my other advice was bring up your water level to net pot and let it drink its way down …you cant develop air roots without roots…whats your humidity level at again? it honestly looks like youre in a stunted phase

Thanks for the input man. Appreciate it. Right now water line is about 1 3/4” below the net pot. I originally have it about 1/4” into the net pot for about two weeks (longer than normal). Concerns that plant was being drowned so lowered to get the air gap. That did prompt a couple roots to drop within a couple days of doing that.
Lower leaves likely didn’t come into contact with Rez water but I have been top feeding from time to time. Very possible came in contact then (which is essentially the same thing). I agree that she seems stunted. Have had issues since day one and roots did not want to drop. Even no I have a couple poking out more than half way up the pot.

RH was been 50-60ish. With a few outliers in high 40s and mid/high 60s.

that is the attitude you want to have :stuck_out_tongue: …yah everything looks right, and everyone i go to for my problems is already here  i asked about nutrient exposure because sometimes when i fill my buckets ive poured over top and soaked leaves and they end up lookin like yours do  personally id remove the bad parts and just keep an eye on things, Im just coming through flower on one of mine that during transplant from smaller net pot to 6" net pot i ripped all the roots off on accident and she was stunted for over a month but she pulled through

Ah, that sir is why your roots aren’t growing anywhere.

Drop it down to 3” below. If you’re going gang busters on airstones, you can even swing 3.5”-4”. But most people don’t go overboard like I did. 3” should be good. Make the roots stretch for the water and work to develop a structure.

that is a good point …where is your airstone located? …if its directly below roots move it off to the side

Copy. Dropping to 3.5” down.

I went overboard on air stones. I have two per tank. I keep them off to the sides as well.

I haven’t seen you mention your ph…
She looks hungry , but your nutrients are extremely high for such a young plant…
Makes me think that your ph is out of wack…
I would be shooting for a ppm of 300 to 400 at this stage…
Also grab up some orca , and hormex for fat roots…
My mix to a gallon of ro water with a starting point of less than 10 ppm and a ph of 5.5…
Mix in this order…

1 mill armor-si
3 mill cal-mag
4 mill micro
2 mill bloom
6 mill grow
2 mill diamond nectar
2 mill orca
2 mill hydroguard
2 mill hormex
Then check ph…
Ph to 5.8 if needed
I use this recipe for early vegg and late vegg , it never changes…
I would really be on high alert for bugs , if ph and ppm’s are in the range that i gave you

pH has been solid. Very little variance from 5.83. I don’t know why but that where I keep landing after each water change. Been very stable to date.

Interesting on your comment that ppm seems high. Into week 6 and 300-400 seems low based on what I have read.

Thanks for the input on the other “supplemental” nutrients. Some of those I have not really looked into.

I have been a water only grower for more than 8 years now…
Was soil for 6 before that and did 2 years outdoors in the emerald triangle growing trees…
11 to 20 pound plants…
Ive been at this for a minute…
Always here to help and share… :+1:t3:
When i say water only…
Just neoprene collars to hold plants…
No media…
Well , alot of what you read now is based off of income…
Not knowledge…
Im here to teach for nothing…
Just want to see you succeed… :+1:t3:
You really need to check mothers and plant that is giving you issues for bugs…
Thats what it looks like from the top down…

heck yah peach how you doing!? i couldnt agree more on orca …i started with great white but the grow boss himself told me face to face “orca is the way to go” since then i can count on vig root growth and massive expansion

Throw some hormex in there from clone or root and they will go crazy…
Especially with the orca…
I really cant even keep up with how fast they grow… :man_facepalming:t3: :man_shrugging:t3:

I haven’t lived my life , before my past , yet…
I don’t think…
Always wanting to see what the future holds and never having a clue to what it will bring…

absolutely enjoy the way you articulate your words my friend…stay vert and never stop living!

Welp, yea I have been gone on vacation Since Sunday morning and clearly she missed me! Lol

Not sure what happened, as pH was a bit high at 6.18 and water temp was my main concern and got to 74.1 when I just got home. But she clearly is unhappy.

Will see if I can get her back, but as this thread has shown I have been battling issues that I don’t really understand the root cause too. But it will be fun to see if I can get her back nonetheless.

I am guessing by the rapid demise over 5 days this was to be ph related??
