The jacks bags arrived so mixed 40g A and 20g B into 5 gals of water. Waited for A to dissolve then put in B.
It has a ppm of 1450 so i assume when diluted with another 5 gals of ro it will be 725ppm? The pH is 5.2 in the mix of 5 gallons. Do i pH up the mix or wait till its in the res with the rest of the water? I assume once in the res but didnt know if it could be done in the prior. Also is that a proper ppm reading Id want or what should i be aiming for?
Im also letting it stay in the 5gal jug with a wave maker in it until im ready to move the plant to the new res in a few hours. Mainly did it this early just in case i messed anything up.

Ph dropped to 5.1 in the jug since last reply. I was reading its ph stable at 5.8 but that seems to be if you do 321.
Kind nervous hurt the plant, maybe i should just keep going GH and lucas. I dont check her enough is my problem to see how she changes day to day. The solution isnt cloudy but has a tiny bit of haze could be i didnt ckean the jugg well enough from using GH last. It also has a kind of rose color to it and not colorless.
She has been showing some sort of deficiency or maybe its age.

I would dilute that down to 800-850 and PH at 5.8-6.0. The PH will drift some in the res, just check it every other day or so and adjust. 6.0 always seems to be my sweet spot

Finished the swap and to make sure I was doing everything right the first time I mixed up 10gals using two jugs. ppm was 850 and pH 5.6 so upped each to 5.8. Once in the tub the ppm was 900-910 but I think that is from the stuff I couldn’t clear from the chiller and lines. She’s been getting almost 1200 ppms so this should if all ppms are the same lower than she has been getting.
Love that I can actually access the res and see the roots when I want. Buds are plumping up nicely too. Her air stone from the bucket is stuck in the roots so just left it in there disconnected. They aren’t the best roots some come off with light pulling but smelt fine. They had been just circling the bucket so now they should be able to loosen up and spread out.

How much was this set up I seen on ac affinity it’s like $80 for two buckets I’m thinking about doing hydro for my next grow

I bought the vivosun 4 bucket dwc and only used one bucket. I got bulkheads turn them into a rdwc but with my lower wattage light and footprint decided on a single plant, larger res.
If you already have the air tubes, pump, and stones then no cost there.
Home depot hdx 27 gal is about $10-$15
400gph Pump to chiller $18
Wave maker optional $10
Air pump 15watt about $20 or $30
1/2" ID x 5/8" OD x 100 ft tube $30
Floraflex air 100ft $20
1" drill hole with 5/8" ID rubber bulkhead things $10
The 5/8 id quick connect fittings about $20 came in a pack
Air stone pads $10 for a pair
Chiller i got on ebay new with best offer scored for $150 shipped but can do up to like 50 gals.
If you get shorter lengths on tubing its a bit cheaper. I bought more than i needed connector and length but id rather have extras on hand.
Im considering making kits and prefabing maybe in the future.
Ill probably go with a smaller net pot 6" once ive ran through my rockwool blocks so i can have more water.

Sounds about right. I changed up my direction after i had most of the components so probably can be done cheaper overall. Such as finding the tubing at a local store instead of bulk lengths. I got a steal on the chiller. The same one on Amazon runs almost 300 itself and other brands you could be looking at 400-600. Check ebay for 1/10 HP water chillers and maybe you can also get one cheap. Dont bother with the peltier diy coolers.

So far no issues. I was worried with the change in nutes that she would get wonky overnight but looking good. Drank a gallon overnight.
Kind of a silly noob question but do buds grow vertically from the stems? Some of the tops look longer now but no new stems growing out of the tops of buds unless they just stretch the stems without new nodes if that makes sense.

I wonder if I can make stock solutions of jacks? So one 5 gal jug of part a and then another for part b. pH adjust and store. Then when the res is empty just pour and mix up another. Would be nice if i can because of how long it takes to dissolve.
I see you can just make a concentration stock. Found it on another forum so will share a screen as i dont know if you can link to another forum.
@OGIncognito what would i need to adjust of his ratio to get to 800ppm? Or just leave it and use more ml per gal of each to get where i want
Also confused by the no need to check ph if using ro water. I would assume you want to change it unless the drift eventually gets you to 5.8-6.
As for the cola growth ill have to get a picture to show what i mean. But i think what you said is likley it.

All final nutrients should be PH adjusted weather the water source was tap, RO or distilled. What’s your full strength mix coming out to with RO per gallon

I dont remember the exact pH of just mixing up non-concentrated 10 gallons. I think it was 5.4 or 5.6. I know it took 2ml of GH pH Up to get to 5.8 in each 5gal jug.
Side note, my entire house smells like bud with a 4" and 6" carbon filter in the single tent. Nothing i do works. So its either the new filters are junk or its the tent. So i pulled the trigger on ACs newest gen 5x5. The old/current tent is a cheap no name that was like 80 bucks.
So im going to use the old 5x5 for a veg tent and the new one for flower.
I also didnt feel like having to tear down the current tent then move it to an actual room then reset and place the plant. So will put that tent in the new designated room then move everything and teardown the old one. Then move it. Will be drilling into the floor to vent into the crawl space all the exhaust. Plus i have to run more tubing to the end of the house from my RO tanks so I can avoid back and forth with water. Hope i can get it done this weekend.
I used to have my mushroom grows and laminar hoods in there so the doors are all sealed etc which will work perfectly.
