Never growing another freebie with good genetics, it was the complementary Deisel

Sour Deisel/wedding cake, and sour deisel/banana blaze

If they are outside, one of your neighbors could have had a male plant pop off. If inside, how hot are we talking, enough heat will wither pistols, you may have to wait until a few weeks to see if seeds start to form. If they do, some will be visible on bud surface. You would prefer to know which plant is the pollinator, so you cross the desired ones.

The seeds are already formed they aren’t everywhere but they are on 3 plants so far following the path of air circulation, the sour deisel is the likely pollinator, but I only ever found 1 sac , it’s not an obvious herm but it’s definitely done some damage, but the bud looks fantastic, will it be any good?

Hopefully it’s minimal but if you found one sac, that was enough to pollinate several plants. The buds not pollinated will be fine, but the seeded one could be somewhat weaker as the plant puts its energy into seed production instead of bud building.

Well this is devestating , my only grow, for some time at least, I did the best I could being 20 miles away…..

On the bright side I got some wedding cake Deisel crosses , nice fat seeds too

What am I looking at? I don’t see any seeds or any nanners. Again, a new newbie here, so what should I be seeing in your pics. The picks look good to me bro.

I was showing pics of some of the buds I was on the fence about, I can’t be sure what’s maturing vs receding pistils ( when a bract gets pollinated it’s pistol changes color and recedes ) I have no less than 12 seeds my friend, big fat honkin 5 times the size of what I got offline seeds :joy: I got a complementary seed and it threw 2 pollen sacks over it’s life( likely when things got too hot) and it was enough to put a few seeds in a few branches, it is what it is, can’t undo it, bud smokes great, tried some preemie I pruned, got more ripped than I’ve been in years, but it won’t be what it could have been, the pollen sack slipped by my inspections , never even saw it happen, I searched top to bottom and only found 1 tiny pollen sack bout as big as half a seed , spritzed with water to neutralize and removed it, it was a white label mystery breeder bean, a Ny Deisel, and it fuckin Hermed on me bc I let the temps get to high for too long, I’m 20 miles from my set up so I’ve had to manage everything from 48 hour visits, not ideal, j did my best but well, I guess on the bright side I got my Deisel cake cross I wanted, and my favorite pheno is somehow unaffected so there is that but ya man I got seeds, popped one out of a lower bud and 1 out of an upper bud , saw at least 7 others I left to mature, gonna have banana blaze cross with Deisel, and Deisel crossed with wedding cake so I guess I have a new strain to try to stabilize, although the fact the Deisel hermed so easily means I’d have to really work on a strain I get out of it over multiple hunts to avoid easily stressed genes

Well for what it’s worth here’s my update for mid week 5 @SausageMahoney @BluegrassHaole

Gonna be hard to stabilize if there’s a herm gene in there! I wouldn’t personally keep seeds from a herm situation, learned that the hard way! Better to purposefully cross two known stable strains and even then there’s no guarantee of stability. :oncoming_fist:

With 80 percent or more white pistils/naturaly maturing orange pistils I think it’s safe to say pollination was limited, fertilized bracts will have a dying pistil within days of pollination, it won’t be perfect but after a good inspection I’d say it’ll definitely still be a lot of good quality sensi

Here’s a lower premi I had to prune( the least frosted part of the plant )

You will still get some premium bud from the unaffected flowers, hopefully the seeds are not scattered out and only a few buds were hit.:oncoming_fist:

I’m getting top shelf exotic quality, the experience of something I’ve dreamed about doing, and my first grow immortalized in seed form with new crosses, and the pollination was very minimal and stress induced from 102 temps for over a week so the seeds produced will be huntable and I can select the pheno I prefer , although ironically the 1 pheno I really wanted seeds from is also by virtue of its tight rock hard bud structure seemingly totally unaffected :joy: if it gets any seeds, that’ll be the one to hunt, that and the deisel cake

May we all share a moment of silence for this sac popping gift so lovingly bestowed upon me by the fine men and women whose company I did procure the other real genetics from  sadly she was just to generous with her pollen so she had to go, luckily she caught much of her own and I did neutralize the tent and now have more space and better airflow I’m still gonna finish strong, let’s see how frosty I can get seeded bud lol

@Growdoc what do I do with this 5 week Deisel? Is smoking it any good? Edibles? Bake the whole thing into fruity pebble rice crispies?

I wouldn’t smoke it at 5 weeks, likely cause headaches and maybe anxiety! You might could make edibles, honestly, I’m not positive on that. I’ve trashed any that had to be chopped early, so I’m not in the know there. @Budbrother @low @OGIncognito , yall have any input on early chops?

My $.02 - When I need a quick supply I’ll run sacrificial plants 5-6 wks and turn into hash to smoke. The heads won’t give you headaches; that’s the plant matter that does. You can make edibles concentrate also; same applies as above.
