First Grow Ever, How does it look?

I hope I did this right:man_shrugging:! I chopped every cola that had 15 to 30% Amber’s on it because that’s what I’m shooting for that 25% Amber and I’m hoping I didn’t ruin the rest of these. I’m figuring Maybe run these lowers for another 10 or 12 days, I just hope it doesn’t start dying on me.

It wont. There is a reason they call it weed
Grats on the forst half of harvest. Be vigilant, the stress could cause some rapid maturation of the trichomes you have on there.

Keep in mind your gonna gain 5-8 percent more amber during the dry:+1:t2::grin:

@BluegrassHaole @SausageMahoney this is why I love fabric pots, the entire pot is absolutely filled with healthy unbound roots, thousands of shoots , not a single bound or circled root, these are by far the best root system I’ve ever managed from any plant , here’s some pics from

This shit is gonna be so beautiful, check out this piece I accidentally sniped off “ the pheno “

Thats quite pretty.

What’s really weird is that the little piece in this picture is virtually identical in appearance and smell to the bud I had in mind when starting this grow:grin:

I love it! My last root ball i pulled out i couldn’t even fill my hand with what was left in the fabric pot.

It’s crazy right? All 4 were entirely full of roots, there was no dirt left until I shook and slapped it lol

Hey man my bad, I didn’t mean to crash your thread with my rootball stuff , I thought I was on the “ first grow journey “ thread :joy:

No worries at all. This was great for me to see. Rarely have I seen anything about the root ball after a harvest. So thank you for that. I want to know the ins and outs, it will only add to knowledge. And I’m gonna win one of these, bud of the month contest one of these days. I don’t want it to be from sheer luck. . I want it to be because I got my shit dialed in.

Hell ya , those “ root balls” on the trunks are actually just a tiny portion I cut free, the entire pots volume was filled with millions of root shoots , fabric pots rock

Man I was just shocked by this pheno, it was the least impressive looking frost wise but holy mother of skunky dank the smell she put on in the last week is like all gas og had a baby with skunk 1

I won one once.
Shortly after that I had to stop my at home growing. Keep reading, growing and learning. You will for sure get there!

Winning that would be quite rewarding but I’m just blown away by the ridiculous quality, the smell, taste, it’s everything I set out to rediscover and then some I had a theory that there was something wrong with the growers in today’s shops and not the weed, I thought I’d grow some myself to see if it was even still possible to get that old school dank ness and omg I had no idea how right I was, craft is still 100 percent possible to achieve and that’s honestly worth more than any awards I could think of there really is nothing like true craft cannabis, maybe i just have terrible luck finding good stuff but this stuff I grew is hands down the loudest tastiest hardest hitting stuff I’ve had in 7 years and i just started, why didn’t anyone tell me home grown is like magical alien weed?

You arent wrong. The weed I grow at work and the stuff I grow at home are two very different things. Work weed is great, it smells and tastes and tests high but the stuff from home is exquisite! Its all about what your growing for and just how hard we push them. At work I grow for weight, bag appeal, and THC. At home I grow for Terpene profile and full canabinoid expression.

Exactly , I’ve been trying to explain to my friends that exquisite weed hasn’t vanished it just becomes less common the more commercialized the industry gets, high frost, bag appeal and encouraging thc numbers may fool the young cats but older heads like myself have definitely noticed and after trying it myself and successfully recreating that stankay danky early 2000s late 90s punch and flavor soo many of us have been missing I’ve come to the following conclusions, 1- a lack of understanding has led many growers to chase frost and percents rather than balance and full profile cannabis. 2- even if you did fully understand the importance of full cannibanoid profile development many of the sulfuric compounds and volatile terpenes can be lost to light intensity or improper drying and curing. So if you want that good ole day stuff you just gotta grow it with care or know someone who does, it’s a shame craft grade isn’t more commercially viable, this was an enlightening experience for sure

So, I used to smoke from 93’ -2000. Then I joined the military. Didn’t smoke for 21 yrs. I was around it as my wife partook regularly and I don’t remember when I started to see loud smoke exactly but I knew it had only evolved. I started smoking after retirement 2 yrs ago. And street prices are crazy in Hawaii. So are dispensaries. Street prices are crazy because so many tourists want to try Maui Wowie, even though majority of the time it’s not that. But it’s :fire:. And people that smoke a lot of weed will tell you it’s just something about the weed grown outdoors here. It’s similar to the emerald triangle. Only problem is it’s impossible to drive it to another state or get on a flight with it. Other wise the weed here would have been transported across the U.S. just like Cali weed was. Once start getting a few successful grows under my belt I am going to be attempting to create my own strain. Maybe I’m jumping the gun here, but that is my goal and I’ve already started planning. As I know the strains I’m gonna cross and the lineage of those strains. This is an amazing experience all around. Smoked a little bit of tester bud with some friends from my grow, even though it’s not fully done curing. They were telling me I got some pretty decent fire on my first go round.:100:

Would you share the winner you had?

This was it.
