@BIGE yes it really does. Fun hobby too, wish they would get the ball rolling on what we voted in during the 2016 elections.
no chit!..everyone mad because their not making enough money off of the disabledā¦pos politicians
@BIGE man Iāve seen some your crops youāve grown, those are extremely impressing. Need to travel a couple hours north and give me some pointers lol Iām just kind of learning as I go. Heck Iām in my first week of flowering and Iām lost. Just hoping I make the right decisions
Youāre welcome @ARGrower. I didnāt have anyone to discuss this hobby with when I first started. I mainly gleaned what I could from online resources and those ancient things called ābooksā
. I live in a place where this hobby is seriously, legally frowned upon. I only joined this forum after learning about the Tor Browser. Itās supposedly a reasonably anonymous way to use the internet. I sure hope thatās true! Anyway, good luck with everything.
@howill I appreciate it! And trust me I completely understand about the whole extremely frowned upon and illegal. Itās the same exact way where Iām at. You even get caught with a gram here and youre going to jail with severe punishment
@howill went ahead and LST them this evening. I did this about an hour before I turned the lights off. Should they be okay or is this an idiot move?(Iām known to be common with idiot moves) 20180918_181548|374x500
Theyāll be fine.
You have the concept, but zip-ties or string that doesnāt stretch are not good options. If you have to use zip ties, put the tab in backwards so it doesnāt lock.
Appreciate it guys. I was just a little worried because this is my 5th day of 1212. I donāt know if itāll even help at this point, yall think it Will? Also I plan on getting those zip ties off ASAP and replace it with something better
Both @raustin and @Whodat66 are giving you good guidance. I use coated wire that holds a crimp (not too tight) on the plant with the other end attached to a clip that attaches to the planter. The only thing different I would have done is to move the spot where youāve attached the zip tie one node up, closer to the top of the plant. And even bend it over a little more. But you donāt have to do that. You have the right technique in mind.
Can you explain the benefits to me? Looks like a small plant for that.
You mean the benefits of LST? Sure, the idea is to keep bending the plant so that the side shoots start growing up toward the light and create larger colas. This technique needs to be started early on a fairly small plant while the main stem is still thin and pliable so you donāt snap it. Thatās why itās called low stress training, you donāt want to apply too much stress at this point.
Never tried it. Didnāt see the need. ? benefit. Something new to make things even better. Only have done it on bigger established plants. How much benefit can one expect? Thanks young lady!
Well, instead of a Christmas tree shape youāre making a vine shape, so all those little side branches now get maximum light and produce nice big colas. You can definitely increase the yield by doing this. It decreases the amount of popcorn buds, turning them into usable buds. Itās worth a try.
Will do. Thanks @raustin . Is there a reason for me NOT to spray peroxide/mix for nothing else but maybe some more peace of mind. Wet weather here in MA. Temps good, i have lots of ventilation MOST days. Wont see them until the weekend. Will get some good pictures then.@countryboy
I always pick the top instead of topping by cutting the stalk. Tomato/tomato??? LST after or before??
@stretchgfw.1957 man Iām not an expert or even average grower. Iām sure you have way more knowledge than I do with your experience. You may have seen it before but I was just going to show you kind of a side by side comparison of LST under indoor lighting. It may help you understand. If you scroll up to yesterday thereās a pic of what they looked like, this is today. Mine arenāt the healthiest looking by any means lol Iām working on that, it just made me understand more so Iām hoping it helps you.
No need to explain. I read everything! Lots of people who know lots! Great place to be.
@Hogmaster went ahead and took your advice and ordered me a ph meter today. Also ordered fox farm grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. Figured I might as well quit giving myself headaches and questions about feeding and do it the correct way
Are you totally sold on FF? If so why? I am using General Organics with great results.
