@Caligurl My amendment this year will be Green House Feeding’s BioGrow and BioBloom, and I will be making compost teas etc. I also have a LAB fermenting going on, it will be ready today or tomorrow. Should I spray some of that on the beds already now..?
Last year I sprayed the plants with some 3 day-old nettle/molasses liquid to prevent pests(as per recommendation from a friend), not sure if it helped. I usually have some bugs eating the leaves but no big infestations…
You could do the clover. I’d add peas and lentils for the nitrogen nodules the roots produce.
Sure. You need to supersaturate it with dark brown sugar to lock into suspension for long term fridge storage. It’s somewhere around equal volume plus a bit. Don’t be in any rush adding the sugar. Add a bit and stir with a wooden spoon till dissolved before adding more. You keep slowly adding and stirring until the wooden spoon just lifts off the bottom. This is when you have reached supersaturation.
Then secondary ferment sealed lid for 2 wks at room temp and darkness. If you went slow enough initially, you will need to top off with a bit more sugar. You should have a 5-7 mm layer on the bottom. Now it’s ready for long term storage in the fridge.
From fridge it takes 20-30 mins to activate before use. To prepare soil for planting I use 30 ml to 4 L. In veg I use 15 ml to 4 L water. In flower I use 7.5 ml but stop after wk6-7 depending on run time. Basically you don’t want it to break down nutrients the last 2-3 wks.
If using molasses it will only last 6 mos from manufacture. Molasses has water therefore the LABs can move around and eat the sugars. No need to refrigerate that. The dark brown sugar will keep them in suspension for 3 yrs with supersaturation and cold/dark.
Yes, can use as is. It should be good for a couple days, without a food source.
@Budbrother thank you for this! I’ll use the molasses and I’ll be done with it over the summer.
We will see, now I have transplanted AND FIMmed the girls so a double whammy on them. All this to practise for the outdoor operation which is starting soon yayy..!
If anyone has any experience of this kind of grow or knows someone who does, please give me a shout because I could really use some ideas how to make things better. As of now I’m just winging it…
I’m not sure if I should mix the compost in or just leave it on the top and transplant into it?
Day 28. Tomorrow is tea time! I don’t know if I should wait for them to droop first?
I’m kind of leaning torwards bot letting the pots too dry, as I’m using the organic dry nutrition. I don’t want to overwater either but isn’t the old saying about the top couple of inches dry being and indicator for watering..?
Looking at the previous 3 posts I see how much growth happened in just two days, let alobe a week, things are looking good for the 5 bigger ones at least!
I have some issue of high temps, my baby room is heating up the lung room up to 30c… I try to keep the door open as much as possible.
The gear to make the ducting through the wall is in the delivery still. Soon I’ll have both tents ventilating straight out of the hut and even a vent to get fresh air in..
@Budbrother hey there ol buddyolpal, what do you think about mixing compost tea and JMS? I have a tea brewing and it’s just about ready, and the jadam is also getting ready soon.
Can I mix them or should I give just one of them? Which one would be more beneficial now when they are in the early stages of flowering?
And for the outdoor seedlings, a few drops of JADAM wouldn’t hurt?
I’m planning to give the outdoor spots a good drenching with it…
