Easing into hydro, could use your knowledge! Autopots and QB's

Thank you Auger, I am planing my first grow and will be using a 2x4 tent so space is limited for sure. I would be happy to hear @BIGE comment on the SmartPot !

i have nothing bad to say about them thus far…with the exception of getting the roots out of everything!
towards the middle of flower i suggest re-plumbing everything, which is a breeze…keep clean

My experience with autopots so far has been pretty good. Had a little hiccup in the beginning that was entirely my fault. Started two seeds and while hand watering I accidentally got the stems too wet. Lost one seedling but the other survived although the stem is kinda weak were it meets the soil. but as far as the grow with autopots is concerned I’m really liking the system so far. It’s much easier and faster to feed/water the plant with this system. When the reservoir gets low I can mix 4-5 gallons at a time and refill instead of hand watering. The autopots also make determining how much to feed a lot easier because you have access to the water the plant is getting instead of trying to calculate how much to feed from runoff of previous feeding/watering. I also find that the PH level is much easier to control. Soil was a huge hassle as far as I’m concerned the PH was hard to keep in line and it was too easy to over feed. The surviving plant is just starting to flower and is the healthiest looking plant I’ve grown so far. It’s a really nice green color and very bushy. I’d say that anyone considering an Autopot system should pull the trigger. The system is a huge time saver and seems to be really easy so far. Thanks to @Nicky for giving us a good insight into how it works. I thought I’d have a big learning curve with it but it’s just the opposite. I’m sold.

Most welcome glad your enjoying them.
I wish @Blasting and @Screwauger were still around but they seem to be long gone, which scares me because I know some are not in legal states =(

I would agree autopots are by far the best system I have ever came across after tons of research they are the most maintance free, inexpensive (long term), high yielding, low labour system to grow plants.
I may buy my girl another 4 pot system just to grow peppers and tomatoes in the yard Durring summer.

Anyone who is Intrested or just starting out I highly recommend checking out my guide here

This was still early in my autopot adventure and my plants are much more impressive now but its a good starting point.

Soil is a waste of time for cannabis unless growing outside within the ground itself.

There is no run off or PH issues with autopots. Just fill the Res with nutrients and water, PH it and walk away. 30 gallon aftermarket tanks are amazing, can give you 1-2 weeks depending on your plant size. PH it once a week, at low nutrient levels PH swings more and at high levels it swings less.
I don’t think I’ll ever grow in another system unless I’m bored and have money to waste.

That’d be me! I think I started up the rez too soon, and now they’re all short and stunted, also erred with the lighting and put them into bloom, and then back into veg, so they’re a mess. Plus I think I over-nuted them…

Bag seeds, and I think most are males, so I am ready to ditch them all and start up the ILGM autos.

My space is a 4 x 6.5 x 8 closet, housing 3 trays of 3,9 gal pots, lit with 2x Mars Hydro 600 leds. Coco / perlite 70/30, with clay balls and airstone at bottom of the pots ( which I have disconnected at the moment. ) 12 gal rez. RO water, using calmag and ph is around 6.4 with Advanced Nutrients SensiGrow.

Good to read up on the various posts on the Autopots. I"m sure to pick up a lot from this forum.
