E76ers' 2nd grow

That’s how they look like in the tent.

There’s 40cm (15.5 inches) between the light panel and the plants.

And the light is dimmed like this

And I’m providing them their light breeze like this

Anything I should change?

I’m in hydro so I’m waiting for their roots to reach a bit farther before planting, Wanda looks ready but Wendy’s root hasn’t even made it out of the rockwool cube last time I checked.

I know it. I don’t sleep as well since moving into a new house. My grow tent is across the house in my garage now, not in the room next to me. I’m toying with asking my wife if I can put a 2x2 in the spare room

Or even just an intake fan above your bed, anything to make some noise.

Ok, so, last time checked on them (four or so hours ago) they were completely fine, just like yesterday before I went to bed. Then I opened the tent just now and found this.

Wanda’s probably dead.
What did I do wrong?

Btw, Wendy’s root(s) still hasn’t appeared, I’m starting to get worried.

Prop her up with a toothpick and a bread tie , how wet is the rockwool cube :love_you_gesture:

Was very very dry. Sprayed water on it.

Rockwool was a big learning curve for myself with overwatering/underwatering. Started misting and keeping the bottom 1/2 damp and started misting the tap root once it was exposed :love_you_gesture:

Weird that first time I nailed it without even knowing anything and they die on me the second time. I’ll check the cubes more often but the other one wasn’t as dry, I don’t get how.

Even though I was misting them more often the other one died too. I’ve no idea why, I’m doing the exact same things I did last time. Gotta go to work but as soon as I get home I’ll start two new ones (still have 2 WD seeds left) and we’ll see what happens. Unbelievable. I was expecting shit like this to happen the first time, not the second.

It happens all the time back up plans are always in place. Im a bit on the extreme but always ready for the next adventure

It still happens to me. It’s often a moisture problem (too little in my case). I overcompensated a few times by keeping things domed - they grew mold. So it’s a delicate balance where I live since it’s naturally dry and hot. Add humidity and you get mold. Remove heat and you get frozen plant. :man_facepalming:

I have started using a variety of plugs - some rockwool, some root riot cubes, and some generic coco in nursery bags. That way if I miss the boat with one of them I’ve got a backup :joy:

That made me feel a bit better.
I guess it was beginner’s luck last time.

I suspect that this was the reason for me too, the cubes never felt that dry last time.

And that’s what my mom says, that they got cold on the windowsill.

Anyway, I’m waiting for the next two to sprout and I’ll keep them more moist and warm, we’ll see how it goes.

Best of luck. It’ll go better next time.

Yesterday one of them finally sprouted. I expected it to take longer, this time I didn’t soak them in water for a day, they went straight into the rockwool cubes because that’s one thing I’ve done differently the first time and it was way more successful than the second. The other thing I’ve not done the first time was switching the fans on (hehh, didn’t have them) and I suspect that they were the culprit in drying the cubes out, so they remain turned off for now. Let’s see.

Today I was kinda productive.
She got tall quick so I decided to plant, and bury deep, as @Bunger64 advised.

The other one still hasn’t sprouted, I guess it never will. I managed to lose a white dwarf seed while trying to plant so I had to replace it with a strawberry banana, then the cubes got mixed up and I don’t even know what I have.
But at least she’s alive, so far.

There’s not much happening, the one that’s sproted is still doing good.

I think I see a bit of stretching, correct me if I’m wrong but last time they were both more sturdy or idk, it looks tall and thin so I turned the light up to 25%.

The other one decided not to spout, it’s been over ten days, so I planted another, but I only had lemon haze left after killing two WDs, losing one and one not doing anything.
Although that last one that hasn’t sprouted might be a Strawberry Banana, I have a feeling that I have a White Dwarf alive, it looks different than the last two at this age (one week) and ever since her roots appeared they have these little wishbones, but so little it looks more like fur. Both the WDs that died had that and neither SB nor LH had it last time this early. I can be wrong, but I guess it’s a White Dwarf.

She’s 11 days old.

I’m more and more sure it’s a White Dwarf, she doesn’t look anything like SB or LH, they were also different, but it’s a third kind of different. Her leaves are wider than even SB’s (60% indica) and LH’s (30% indica) were really thin. WD is supposed to be pure indica so the leaves make sense too.
She keeps stretching tho, so I turned up the light a bit again and lowered it.
Curling leaves I don’t understand, is something happening to her?
And when do I top? She’s far too young I guess, but how old should she be?
