Drooping plant. I dont know why. DWC

Look up the air cube system they’re nice!

I don’t do RDWC I only do DWC with a chiller coil, to avoid the possibility of mixing problems between plants. So I went with this.

Still keeps my bucket at 68°F while not mixing or “contamination” of outside totes.

This is what I got so far.

@Mntmannw what’s the chiller model and such? Is that a 30g reservoir? I plan on getting one but don’t want to under shoot and have to buy another would rather be over than under. Probably end up with 5 5 gallon buckets

The one I showed is on Amazon and the information on it is wrong. Do Not, I repeat DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on that chiller. She only puts out half of what she says.

Mine is a 60 gallon, with 6 plants, when in bloom I have to top it off at least weekly. In early veg it will last 3 weeks. I will have th check the brand and model of the chiller, can’t remember off hand.
I think it’s an active Aqua brand 1/4

No, brain bucket is a controller that feeds the plants. You set how often it feeds and for how long. I have mine set to feed every 2 hours for 15 minutes. It pumps the nutes from the reservoir into the brain bucket, then gravity lets it flow to the plants. Has a float inside the bucket that controls how high the nutes get to every plant so it don’t overflow. When time to drain the pump inside the brain bucket pumps it back into the reservoir.

I removed that plant. No doubt now that it was root rot. Now the cleanup. What would anyone suggest about cleaning this up before next use?

Again, not a dwc guy but I know peroxide works nicely for most situations. I would definitely add southern AG or hydroguard to your routine to help prevent future root issues, even with a chiller, I like my belt to be supported by my suspenders… helps to keep your dirty laundry from being aired…

Chiller and hydroguard on its way.

I would suggest a heavy peroxide soak and wash, what nutrients are you using ?

Fox farm trio and sledgehammer

Pick up Jack’s. That will help. It’s also much less expensive. FF is the most expensive FYI.

In my DWC I use Advanced Nutrients pH perfect so I don’t have to worry about adjusting the pH. Just mix an go.

I second the peroxide and hydro guard :hand_with_fingers_splayed: maybe even upgrade the air pump

There goes another $500 to this hobby!:joy:

I noticed a lot of people like Southern ag better then hydroguard, also if you do end up trying advanced Nutrients pH perfect, you will not be able to use the above mentioned, you will need U C Roots. 2ML per gallon.

Back when I used these products, I preferred SAG over HG. In my set-up, hydroguard always built a slimy film on eveything with certain nutients. Harmless, just had a yuck factor. Both products work.
Like you, I choose DWC over RDWC for the individual environment reason. I think about switching to totes all the time, especially if ROG is around lol! I always talk myself out of it tho and I’m right back to the buckets. Viva la buckets! :joy: For me, they work well.
Release the haters- I dont run a chiller, nor do I use bacillus nowadays. I keep my rez temps down during vegg with frequent changes, 1 or 2 each week. Once I hit the 12/12 cycle, staying below 70°F is no longer a problem for my environment, very fortunate from that standpoint. I treat all my equipment like it’s food and beverage equipment. Everything that goes in the tent or comes into contact with my grow gets cleaned with sanitizers like powder brewery wash or Star San. I consider things like polyflow tubing and air stones to be consumable and discard them after each grow. I protect the nutients from the light source as much as possible. And when it comes to water movement and dissolved O2, I overkill it.

Stay elevated Growmies :hugs:
